Some pre-VTech buzz

Briscoe is a very intriguing offensive line prospect 2 years from now. Although I'd like to see him get his shot on defense, he has some ridiculous speed for an offensive linemen. I'd actually like to see him work at all 3 spots on offense. Could be a stud center if he ever gets strong. His biggest flaw on tape was his below average strength. If we keep running this zone stretch scheme that Fisch is in love with he could be a serious weapon getting to the second level. The "defensive mentality" point is valid, lets just hope he is violent enough to play offense. Some combination of Flowers, Isadora and Briscoe is promising. I'm also high on Gall who has great technique for a high school kid. I've read that he's a high motor/finisher which is always a good sign.

We are ***KKED at OL if we end up with just Gall and Kirkland.

With Mr Drama Henderson likely to go pro and Jermaine JOhnson not around to provide depth, Hunter freaking Wells is locked in as the primary backup at OT along with the unknown Gadbois and Briscoe. That's it.

At OG we have Feliciano, Linder, and Isidora, plus Gall and presumably Kirkland. That's it.

At OC we have McD and Wheeler.

Our OL depth chart for 2013 is 12 lousy kids, including 1 position switcher and 2 true FR. This unit needs AT LEAST 2 more bodies, impact FR like Flowers or JUCOs.

The recruiting at OL under Golden has been utterly inexplicable. He has been stockpiling DL like crazy - everyone bitc*es about DL but we have a MILLION DL lined up. ****, we have almost 4 kids for every 1 starting spot at DL. Meanwhile, our OL gets ridiculously shortchanged to the point where one stinking injury to a starter becomes fatal.

One of the positions I am least concerned about is OL.

We'll see. Back in 2007-2010, i was the only out there screaming about our lack of CBs in recruiting. While everyone was worshipping the 2008 class, i was critical of it because it failed at CB bringing only 1, when we probably needed 3. I THINK we ended up enrolling only 4 CBs in FOUR YEARS during Shammin's tenure, although we later switched Shields to CB for one year to mitigate our atrocious CB recruiting. It ended up biting us in the *** as we all know.

The same shi*s gonna happen at OL in a couple years.

Flowers, Isadora, Gadbois, Briscoe
Kirkland, Gall, Kerr(looking more like an OL prospect)
2014 should be a good OL class for us as well.

I would like one more this year but is not as bad as you are preaching in every thread. Bunche, Flowers, McDermott, Linder, Feliciano, Wheeler, Wells, maybe Henderson + 7 listed above return so we will have between 13-15 OL on the roster(Kerr? Henderson?)

Pretty sure everyone noticed what was going on with our corners. I certainly did. Everyone was heated at Randy for passing on the short guys. I'd like to take another lineman or two as well but we don't have many spots. Kerr can (and probably will I think) bounce inside.

I'm a little concerned with OL as well. We have a lot of help coming the next two years but guys like Isadora and Gadbois really need to pan out.

A two year haul of Kerr, Kirkland, Gall, Darling, McDermott, Linder maybe, is STRONG.

In other words the current squad is short on talent and depth and are doing as expected. According to the Shannon boyz we're stacked with the cream of Miami talent.

Who's right and who's wrong here?

This team doesn't need any more distractions. If they offer Coley, they better believe that he'll play for Miami and not himself. I trust Golden's judgement.

G's first class and a half have been dedicated to CB's, LB's, WR's and DL. Now S. We had nothing....0...zero....nada at those positions.

LOL! Terrible this year on a bad MIZZOU team!

Is he actually that bad? He's the most freakish WR since Megatron and broke high school receiving records. Hard to imagine him not being completely dominant next year, but who knows what's going on with the drug arrest and what not.

I don't watch Mizzou football so forgive me. If I watched them against any team other than Miami I'd be questioning my life choices.

Oh so you were right in 2007 about CB, not sure anyone who thought CB recruiting was good during those times. Everyone shouted we needed more CB during that time. In fact we only signed (07-09) DVD, Harris, McGee 3 cornerbacks during three classes, everyone knew we had issues it was clear as day just look at the numbers.

As for OL, we have a ton and we will have a ton next year. In fact if Henderson leaves, the net effect is -1 (Henderson, Lewis and Jones out, Gall and Kirkland in). How many scholarship OL do you need? 12-14. We will have that. In fact we are basically bringing back our starting five next year (Flowers, Bunche, McD, Linder and Felicano).

2013 OL Roster (without Henderson)

SR: Linder, Wheeler
JR: Bunche, Felicano and McDermott
So: Wells and Flowers
Rd-Fr: Gadbois, Isadora and Briscoe (if he stays there)
Fr: Gall and Kirkland

Then you have kids like Kerr and we're still after some OL (Knighton and Johnson), who knows.

In 2014 you bring in 3 more. I don't think anyone sees issues in terms of numbers.

Let's not forget we are in good shape at OL. That matters too.

Also these kids are spaced out nicely, not just a glut of kids at Freshman. The line issues are not their numbers wise. Going to need to develop them next.

I just don't understand how we have 2013 all wrapped up with only 11 commits. Thomas, grace, bain is 14. Who are the other kids they are comfortable with?
