At this point reach out to Longo, Grimes, Briles and hire the first one who wants it I think the combo of any of these mixed with Mirabal/Cristobal on the OL would produce. I would really love Longo honestly seeing as we always have a NFL caliber back on the roster and he is always pumping out good backs plus we saw when he has a capable QB his offense is pretty **** good

This thread is exactly why we should never get overly hyped about the "names reaching out or being discussed behind closed doors" because as we've seen, sometimes it's just talk and other times things change. Until pen meets paper, it's only talk. We heard this supposed elite staff Butch had ready to put together when Manny was hired and then heard all these names with Mario.....only now to see some of the bigger names potentially not happening. I now see why Dee made the comment that it might be best to not leak names this time and just let it play out, to avoid these roller coaster rides.

At the end of the day, this staff will still be MUCH better than the previous staff. Mario will demand accountability in a program desperately lacking it. Mirabal will whip these OL into shape. BMac is elite on the trail and offers flexibility on staff (RB and WR). Same with TRob on D, even if i'll always be a Raymond guy and wish we could have pulled him over. Joe Salave’a (if he's in) is another really good coach. I just hope we close out with a nice balance of legit coaches/developers with high end recruiters.

We HAVE to hit on the coordinators, though. We cannot have this type of momentum/money and settle at those positions. Period.

Jeff Grimes at OC would be interesting. He's a former OL coach like Mario. His offenses ranked

Scoring. Total Offense
2017 124th. 119th the year before he was OC
2018 79th. 101st.
2019 68th. 27th.
2020 3rd. 6th.
2021 37th. 43rd. At Baylor

Baylor before Grimes was. 101st and 119th

**** they already got their OC 😂

5-star top 10 QB overall prospect Cam Newton was a great eval? 🤣 And how did that work out?:)

Dak... well, even a blind squirrel catches a nut once in a while. But a win is a win, so I will give him to you. Honestly though, based on the rest of his career, I am apt to think he got lucky because he couldn't pull a highly rated prospect that cycle. And you know what? That was a DECADE ago. A DECADE. These recruits were 7 years old the last time Mullen hit.

Just look at UF's roster right now. All missed QB evals and bad development. QB whisperer? Yeah, no one says that about him anymore. And he missed on Beck who would have been a mistake, and the Evers kid that was going to come that Napier dropped... no thanks.

He didn't have a single earned QB win at UF. Not one.

None of this matters. He's not getting a sniff here. If you can't see why, yikes!!

Didn't Richt want him as a TE or some crap?

Exactly what I said. To be honest if Muschamp comes calling, my money is on T-Rob being G-O-N-E.
FWIW McClendon was the OC at SC under Muschamp, while T-Rob was DC. So maaaaybe there's enough history there to convince him to stick around.

All I’ll say is the game changes and you either adapt and thrive or it passes you by. Chud hasn’t had a consistent job in a decade, got washed out the NFL, and now has been minimized to an off the field at BC.

On the flip side, Dorsey was apart of helping Cam win an MVP and helping Josh Allen become a perineal pro bowler. It’s been reported he turned down two NFL OC jobs last year. He’s the pass game coordinator for a top 5 passing attack in the NFL.

One guy on the rise and one guy for lack of a better word, WASHED. Lol not according to me either, according to people hiring coaches. You really want a coach with 0 demand for nostalgia?

I certainly hope not...
