I like Briles, my only concern is that in that Baylor offense that he and Lebby run is that Running the QB is a big part of the offense and obviously with TVD we won’t be running it. The Wake Forrest OC is intriguing and I’d think he would leave Clawson to run his own offense.

At this point we need to just shut down the program. What’s the point if all our OC targets suck? I have seen enough evidence on this board that Brady, Briles, Mullen and the rest of the targets have zero chance of working out here.

I'd like to see some smoke from independent sources as I had Brady and Briles as my #1A and 1B choices. There is a rather large gap (for me) to the next set of candidates.

Dak... well, even a blind squirrel catches a nut once in a while. But a win is a win, so I will give him to you. Honestly though, based on the rest of his career, I am apt to think he got lucky because he couldn't pull a highly rated prospect that cycle. And you know what? That was a DECADE ago. A DECADE. These recruits were 7 years old the last time Mullen hit.

Just look at UF's roster right now. All missed QB evals and bad development. QB whisperer? Yeah, no one says that about him anymore. And he missed on Beck who would have been a mistake, and the Evers kid that was going to come that Napier dropped... no thanks.

He didn't have a single earned QB win at UF. Not one.

None of this matters. He's not getting a sniff here. If you can't see why, yikes!!

And yet still put up a Top 15 offense.

Cam was a great eval no matter how you slice it. Yeah he was a 5 star, but he was not heavily recruited like a 5 star qb. He was considered an athlete by most schools. Think Blake Bell.

In the end, you're probably correct. He most likely isnt getting a sniff here. But dude is a legit OC. Period.To say otherwise is just being facetious. The numbers speak for themselves.

And Moorehead was a **** recruiter who Mario hired.We know Brady, who was being considered, also hates recruiting. So the idea that you have to be a recruiting guru to be hired by Mario as his OC is also inaccurate.

Not really. In 2017, he piloted a top 10 offense at FAU. Devin Singletary had 1900+ rushing yards. He does feature the QB a lot when he has kids to do it (King, Jefferson) but he adapts to his personnel.

He’s just a really good offensive coach with a proven track record of success and improvement everywhere he’s ever been. He should be VERY HIGH on the short list of OCs. Anyone who puts him in the same breath as someone like Frank Ponce should be castrated.

He's a legit PLAY-CALLER. But there is a LOT more to the job. He can't recruit, he can't evaluate (I dare you guys to push it enough to make me list ALL his QB signees lol), he's a culture-killing, arrogant *******.

Mullen is a a smart Xs and Os coach, but this isn’t the NFL. It takes a LOT more than that. Which is why everyone keeps saying his best bet is NFL OC.

How do you know Mario isn't looking specifically for a playcaller first and foremost?

Again, look at the Moorehead hire. He wasn't brought in bc he was some recruiting savant.

What does Brady bring to the table besides Xs and Os and playcalling ? Who has he recruited and evaluated?

Sometimes a playcaller is all thats needed if you have recruiting dogs handling the other stuff for you (see Brian Daboll at Bama for examole).
