Folks....

As it relates to Muschamp and T-Rob.....Georgia still has a DB coach, and unless I missed anything, he's not going anywhere. Muschamp wouldn't be able to just up and fire the current DB coach IF Muschamp becomes UGA's DC

OC
Phil Longo rhymes with NO
Ponce...NO

Briles...YES
Herman...YES (we have $$ to spend)
Grimes...YES

Brady's agent could be posturing, so let things play out.

FWIW McClendon was the OC at SC under Muschamp, while T-Rob was DC. So maaaaybe there's enough history there to convince him to stick around.
He's extremely tight with Muschamp. I don't think McClendon would move the needle much. I'm hoping that 1) being home and 2) uga's db coach is in his first year there so they won't can him is what tilts things in our favor. However if those uga db's get torched again during the cfb playoffs, Mario better have a backup plan.

If this is true, this is stupid on Miami's part. Brady wasn't going to be here for more than two years anyways.

Honestly, the best scenario for Miami is to get Brady in for 2 years and somehow reel in Dorsey as the QB coach with an assistant OC or HC title. So when Brady leaves, Dorsey slides right in and becomes the highest paid QB/OC in college football history.

The two years should never be a sticking point. Just publicly offer him a 4 year deal with a gentleman's understanding that he will likely leave within 2. Announce Dorsey as the QB coach and make it clear the OC/QB job is his when Brady leaves.

Obviously though this is a longshot dream. I agree with Cribby, Dorsey would be giving up a lot to come down here and swallow his pride. People crapping on him are foolhardy. His rep is impeccable, he could be an OC in the league with zero prior OC experience.

Does Dorsey even want to come here?

Most up-and-coming coordinators or OCs who are former HCs will only be there a few years if they are highly successful because someone will come knocking with a HC offer. That is to be expected. If that's the excuse on Brady, it's either BS or really stupid. Clemson holding on to their coordinators for so long is incredibly RARE. Bama loses coaches every year.

How do you know Mario isn't looking specifically for a playcaller first and foremost?

Again, look at the Moorehead hire. He wasn't brought in bc he was some recruiting savant.

What does Brady bring to the table besides Xs and Os and playcalling ? Who has he recruited and evaluated?

Sometimes a playcaller is all thats needed if you have recruiting dogs handling the other stuff for you (see Brian Daboll at Bama for examole).

Don't parse or move the goalposts.

"He can't recruit, he can't evaluate (I dare you guys to push it enough to make me list ALL his QB signees lol), he's a culture-killing, goofy, arrogant *******. Terrible fit."

Also, again... have you seen his name linked with Miami anyplace besides message board imaginations? You think we are looking for guys who can do half the job? Mario wants 10 killers. You guys have Stockholm syndrome you really do. I understand it, its been a rough two decades, but I think you will enjoy seeing what a real football program looks like.

Culture-killer Dan Mullen did a number on that UF culture that won 2 titles, a Heisman trophy, went 57-12, and had a top 20 offense four straight years with him at OC.
It’s amazing people who want a guy who’s literally never called plays (Dorsey) over a guy who produces top 20 offenses every year and is one of the best play-callers I’ve ever seen.

We will be fine with any of the names being mentioned except Coley :ROFLMAO:.

Brady
Briles
Mullen
Dorsey

My preference is for a Brady/Dorsey combo but we'll be fine with any of those names listed.

This is generous, no? Bolden and Hall regressed under TRob. He moved on to Williams, Williams, and Kinchens, who played well for freshmen, but didn't necessarily outperform their expectations. Not saying he's a bad coach, but safeties were underwhelming if anything.
I disagree….50% on the system & 50% on the players…made them look bad imo…Hall & Bubba was in position to make a lot of plays they just didn’t..Bubba & Hall problems started before T-Rob got here…Bubba started to read the press clippings & forgot he still has business to handle…Hall problems are all mental…9 months of T-Rob couldn’t undo the 24-36 months under Manny…ijs

How's Briles doing this year recruiting quarterbacks?
