When Ivins was doing the Canes pod it was such an awkward podcast. Everything was a major hedge and him pretending like he had all of this information.

You really think Dorsey would do that to UM? It’s not like he is some journeyman coach - he has been at Car/Buf for how long now?

I’d have to think he and Mario would have a gentleman’s agreement as to ~~ how long he will stay. And if a job he can’t turn down comes up, then go take it. Just don’t leave to be the Jags OC or something.
Dorsey will do exactly what Mario did. We can justify what Mario did because it was Saban vs Golden but if an NFL job comes open and he likes it Dorsey would leave after a year. And Mario couldn’t say **** about it because he did something similar

Hiring Hurtt makes absolutely ZERO sense (assuming Salea'va is coming) on a few fronts and I'm not sure why his name keeps getting tossed out. First, he would be a first time defensive play-caller and I highly doubt Mario wants to go that route - even Schumann has been in a Co-DC capacity.

Second, Salea'va coaching DL makes Hurtt redundant. Now, if Salea'va isn't coming anymore and he is looking at Hurtt as a co-DC/DL to partner with a primary playcaller, then it makes more sense, but I'm not sure why he'd leave an NFL job for that type of arrangement.

Belk overlapped with Mario at Alabama and Abdul-Rahim at Alabama, but he's a DB coach as well, so in that scenario, one of Abdul-Rahim or T-Rob would be out and we'd need to bring in a dedicated LB coach.
It wouldn’t be crazy for Belk to bring Abdul-Rahim with him. Abdul-Rahim could coach DBs and Belk could be DC and help out with the DBs or something like that. But yeah, probably wouldn’t keep TRob in that scenario. Wasn’t there smoke of him leaving to UGA or something?

First time I’ve glanced at Belk’s history. He’s from Valdosta GA and looks like he’s been a GA recruiter since he went on field. Would be big to get him and expand the recruiting map. Would also seem redundant hiring him and the guy from BC with T-Rob on staff.

He is considered a rising star in the coaching industry, he got a pay bump from Houston at the end of this season (I think 1 million) because of the interest from other teams.

Still don't think it's Briles and no, I was not the one to bash you guys.
And how the heck did you guys find out about me being an Arkansas fan?
You need to cover the camera on your phone. RVA showed me some pics.
Also your search history……… wow!!

if you’d take the elite qb coach then why aren’t you mentioning mike kafka?

I was just reading up on Kafka as I'm sitting here wondering about Dorsey as a candidate.

Kafka is a young guy like Dorsey who's an NFL QB coach that's had his guy rise to a Pro Bowler and superstar under his watch. He's also worked under one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL during this time, and now he's his passing game coordinator.

Would people be happy if we hired Kafka as our OC?

Believe the talk was that we'd be paying our coordinators $1.5 each so I'd imagine we'd be able to offer more, not to mention he'd be closer to Georgia.

Houston hasn't officially announced that deal. Belk did thank the school for believing in him at a bowl game presser but I'm not sure that is official yet. So if we want him I think it is still certainly on the table

okay. brian daboll and mike shula get credit for josh allen and cam newton.
Reid must have been extremely lucky for 20+ years to somehow always have a really good QB coach developing QBs for him with zero gaps.

Or... you're just here to argue with asinine points. I wonder which one is more likely.

Hey remember these posts under your other screen name?

Good chance they come back like Benny Blanco from the Bronx.

Still don’t think it’s Briles? I know the Arkansas board was dismissing us as a step down. As I asked you previously… were you ( @TheU21 )one of the ones dismissing us???
