Not for us right now. I’ve mentioned before, and you’ve agreed, that his highest and best use is as an OC under a strong top tier Head Coach.

We need better character in our coaching leadership right now. I think Mullet would kill it under Saban.

Under Saban would be a much better idea.

I think thete would be a clash with most coaches though. In between his weird personality, his inability to get away from battering ram quarterbacks, and his horrific record as a recruiter, added to smartest guy in the room syndrome - I don’t see how many good coaches would be able to tolerate him without knocking him across the room.

Ability to work with others is an underrated skill.

If you could keep them up in the press box to analyze what’s going on, and not have him interact with actual human beings, he could be extremely useful.

I really hope the DC is Schumann.
I’m following the offers, and we are offering a TON of tweeners that would fit very well in a hybrid 3-4 like they run at UGA. Bain, Verse, Thomas, even the suddenly instant attraction of Perkins says that the need for LBs has increased and LBs like Perkins know that they have a chance to be coached by someone strong in development.

If this is the case, sign me all the way up.

Apparently DVD can stay at Miami as an analyst and possibly be the cornerbacks coach if the new d coordinator picks him (doubtful imo) or he can go to FIU and be the cornerbacks coach per 247.

This hasn’t really been talked about a lot as assumption seems to have been made that Mario picked his entire staff. But the more traditional path here is hire the DC/OC and let them pick their guys with HC approval.

Could be Mario has a short list of guys he’d like in position roles but will let OC/DC influence final decision.

I was naive early on and was like a toddler playing with a hand gun. Not just with info but hanging my entire reputation on a few calls. Which looking back was beyond dumb. I was also naive to the eyes that watch what lI post. I had no clue there was that many.

Btw I’m not playing coy or acting like I know the entire staff , because I don‘t. I’m also sketchy on some info since I know it is a new staff. I said during the AD search I wouldn’t be in a race to be first , I wanted to be right. People should’ve learned a valuable lesson from that. Media especially.

I‘m a 43 year old small business owner , so i‘m not some young jit sitting around tweeting amd texting trying to get info all day. Theres plenty of times I find out out stuff when y’all do, I don’t know all things um football lol. Or care to know for that matter. People assume I do.
I’ve learned over the years to never ***-u-me anything.

Or like the football team during the Pep rally of revenge of the nerds
skit.webp

It is lil difference!! but if it works it will be good hopefully!! I'm not that crazy fan who are thinking many titles for so many years, gotta wait several year!! but it's great hire but gotta see it on the field first!!

You can bet that Mario and whoever the new OC/DC is have been communicating on all of the hires Mario has been making.
