I listened to Ferman's daily podcast this morning. FWIW, he and Shodell are saying they hear the OC & DC positions are still "wide open". They said that a current "head coach" threw his name in the hat for one of the coordinator positions just recently and that Mario is sorting through a number of choices. They are saying that many qualified people expressed interest in both coordinator positions - the thinking is the staff will start to come into focus in the next few days...
Ferman is also saying that there is no definite indication that Chud is taking a position anywhere on the staff.

The Oregon 247 board is still obsessed with Cristobal and what is going on here at Miami. There is much talk about the fact no staff has been announced; it seems that this is Mario's style. He takes a long time to fill staff positions. Apparently it made that fan base crazy, too. They are salty about everything.

What current head coach would leave their current position to become a OC/DC? I don't think it will happen but I don't mind going down the rabbit hole for entertainment's sake. For it to make sense, the head coach would have to currently make less than $2 million, as I assume that Miami can go this high for a coordinator it really wants. I'm just randomly throwing some names out there but some guys that might fill the bill are:

-Jim McElwain, Central Michigan, he's making $840,000
- Willie Taggart, FAU, making $770,000
-Jamey Chadwell, Coastal Carolina, $850,000
-Butch Jones, Arkansas State, $825,000
-Jeff Scott, South Florida, $1.8 million

“Do the BOT factions who opposed the change use the Oregon loss as fodder to put up a stop sign and try to kill the deal?
Does Miami find a way to ***** it all up?
Could happen.
Interesting weekend ahead”.

They didn’t specify college or pro. So maybe it’s Andy Reid or Sean McVay.

Jeff Scott has a warm seat, right?

Yeah it makes no sense unless he meant an interim HC coaching in a bowl game. Personally I think Ferman is full of crap.

I have a poster that pms me articles from Gary for ***** and giggles. When I say 60 percent of what he writes is bs I mean if. The Ad and Coach search was so full of misinformation that I responded with “ well he’s getting better”when he finally got decent info. Dude was so out in the weeds writing fiction that it was unreal. It was like episodic tv lol.

I don’t give a flying **** how long it takes Mario to fill positions-as long as they’re the right hires.

Let’s see.. an A+/A- type hire that takes 30 days to be announced, or a B-/C+ hire that takes a week or two to be announced, and for what reason? To appease eager fans? What purpose does it serve?

Mario has the biggest salary pool that’s ever been given a green light at this university. It is now one of the highest in the country, and people still can’t see beyond the instant gratification part.

Insane reasoning. Make the best hire. Period.
He’s had the elite staff in place at least 2-3 times over the last month so we should probably just try to be patient at this point….

That should’ve ended the post lol. You have common sense friend.

Lol it’s really not making this fan base crazy at all. I don’t think anyone expected coaches to be named during bowl season. We’re big game hunting. They weren’t at Oregon. They hired Dan Lanning as their HC.

It’s always been the first of the year lol. I said this two weeks ago but people must stress.

That fan base is shook as fucck. Everything they had fell apart right in front of them, and Lincoln Riley got hired. They know their time is up.

Which Oregon fans have you been talking to?

The ones over on Reddit think Lanning is a better HC and (probably) a better recruiter.

They're sniffing glue over there, it's hilarious.
