Why would Mullen submit? That’s what this takes. Mullen has to leave his pride at the door and submit to Mario’s rule. Why would he do that? Mario isn’t going to change Mullen’s personality. Mullen is a weird egotistical dude, who is a good offensive play caller. If Mario was say three years in and had a solid culture built and could afford a risk like Mullen sure. But day 1 trying to build a foundation from scratch? I’d bet on a different OC.

Because guys like that are smart enough to know if they don't submit....their window closes quickly.

It only works if you have a head coach that commands respect. Not every HC could hire Mullen and have it work....but I'm pretty **** sure Mario is that dude.

And it's a solid bet because he's a great offensive mind who has head coaching experience that Mario can lean on when needed. That's an invaluable resource to have on staff when your head coach is more recruiter than gameday chess player.

Absolutely worth the risk, and in my opinion, isn't really a risk. No brainer.

Reading comprehension isn't your thing huh? You took a passage where I discussed Dan Mullen - the potential ANALYST and applied it to my suggestion of Dan Mullen - THE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR.

Try harder to be cute next time.

Do either of those guys know Dan Mullet - THE DARTH VADER IMPERSONATOR? And have the three of those guys been introduced to Dan Mullet - TIK TOK DANCE MASTER? Be sure to keep those four guys away from Dan Mullet - TERRIBLE INTERVIEWER FOR UM JOBS.

For years the retards on this board yelled for the Ghost of Christmas past to deliver us Butch Davis.

Well, we got something better...we got a YOUNGER, up and coming version of Butch in Mario. Like Butch, Mario is a BUILDER. He's a guy that can spot talent, he's a guy that can recruit his a$$ off, and he's a guy that can absolutely be the face of your program.

You know what Mario isn't? A great gameday coach. Butch suffered from the same affliction. If you're going to commit to a guy like Mario, then you HAVE to surround him with GREAT coordinators who excel on GAMEDAY. Otherwise, you're going to get the version of Mario that Oregon got with Herbert (and a great offensive line)....a team that is really talented but somehow managed to lose 1,2 or 3 games they had no business losing.

A guy like Mullen is PERFECT for Mario.

Every time I try hard to be cute, THIS happens...

Regardless the reason I can't possibly see someone who was out of coaching 2 yrs and an analyst at Boston College of all places, to somehow not allow us to sign other offensive analysts, especially bug named guys. Imo money and just personality (whether they can get along with Mario, them sucking at recruiting obviously doesn't matter) will determine who and how many we sign.
Chud isn’t/wasn’t an analyst at BC. His title /job was somEthing like Special Advisor. I could see that title or type of role for him as part of Mario’s staff, too. Like Stoops.

I was naive early on and was like a toddler playing with a hand gun. Not just with info but hanging my entire reputation on a few calls. Which looking back was beyond dumb. I was also naive to the eyes that watch what lI post. I had no clue there was that many.

Btw I’m not playing coy or acting like I know the entire staff , because I don‘t. I’m also sketchy on some info since I know it is a new staff. I said during the AD search I wouldn’t be in a race to be first , I wanted to be right. People should’ve learned a valuable lesson from that. Media especially.

I‘m a 43 year old small business owner , so i‘m not some young jit sitting around tweeting amd texting trying to get info all day. Theres plenty of times I find out out stuff when y’all do, I don’t know all things um football lol. Or care to know for that matter. People assume I do.
To some on this board 43 is a youngin.😂
And me at 30 might as well be a child.
Thank you for all the info you bring, it is better than being left in the dark

Rob is the special assistant to Hafley, is certainly involved with the O and Jurkovec. Since people don't know or don't want him, they pass on this BS about him. At 53 the game has passed him by. Put Mullen in the room with him and Rob will have the higher football IQ and it won't be a secret walking in. Mario is obviously saving his staff from dealing with the questions and upset fans about leaving. He was ****ed about the leaks with him when he wasn't ready. What's a couple days at this point?

Oh I don’t think Mario would tolerate it but I don’t know that he would bring him in if he has other strong choices with less of the other stuff. I agree that Mullet is a top notch scheme guy. I don’t love the way he uses his QB’s but he knows how to get a lot out of the talent he has.

So in other words, not offensive coordinator material.

Not for us right now. I’ve mentioned before, and you’ve agreed, that his highest and best use is as an OC under a strong top tier Head Coach.

We need better character in our coaching leadership right now. I think Mullet would kill it under Saban.
