So Lanning is still going to be play calling at UGA

Scoring d can be severely manipulated in a bad way especially if you have a bad offense or st’s. Ypp tells you a lot of what you need to know. Alot of the others can be manipulated.

I post way too many stats on this board and have said for eons that, while none are perfect, if you have to pick one metric to look at, it’s offensive and defensive YPP. It’s NOT perfect either. But it’s very indicative of how good you are.

There’s not many better than him out there. So yes , I’d pay him two million. That’s what one of the best coordinators get.

No doubt Mason is a good DC, but I would argue that former Auburn DC Kevin Steele is as good or better and is probably the best available right now.

He consistently had Auburn’s defense in the top 20 in points per game during his time there.

I actually think Steele is a better fit for our current roster and an overall better fit.

Year - defensive rank ppg
2020 - 38th (24.7 ppg)
2019 - 17th (19.5 ppg)
2018 - 14th (19.2 ppg)
2017 - 12th (18.5 ppg)
2016 - 7th (17.1 ppg)

I will take these results all day everyday and twice on Sunday. Pair that defensive output with a good offense and we would be competing for both the ACC Championship and CFP playoff spot.

Do we hear announcements before the CFP Final?
Yes, I’d hope before 2023 CFP final. Probably have to wait a year to give these coaches the ample grace period to mourn their job change. Mario and Mirabal coaching offense, defense, special teams, conditioning, everything.

Wonder if we threw 2.5-3M at Jim Leonhard if he would consider leaving Wisconsin

If I’m going by anything it’s Ypp. ***** the rest.
And Auburn did make a big jump in yards/play under Mason - from 60th in 2020 to 34th in 2021.

Auburns defensive FEI rating (factors in SOS and non-def TDs allowed) made a huge jump under Mason - from 75th in 2020 to 20th in 2021.

Is the Mason talk heating up with Miami? I assumed it was Schumann or Belk.

You talking about the brain from The Breakfast Club?
