Official Kent St fan for MAC unless Sean Lewis is hired as OC then will re-evaluate. **** BG and Toledo!!

by all accounts we have made one offer to one OC and he turned it down

If that actually happened then that likely means the situation is more chaotic than we would hope. That means Mario took a month to get to his candidates, spent loads of time trying to get everything right, and was turned down by the first person he asked. That's not a good look. The assumption with the fan base is the time and effort is worth it because it will pay off in the end but if it's just getting you turned down then you're likely wasting your time.

Yeah but they would do that no matter what. Some of the stuff I see in Nole and Gator tears is a reach. They would be reachin here
they had a guy tweeting yesterday that nobody wants the job because they think the program is a mess. that is a joke. the person who takes the job is going to be sitting on a NFL QB with great skill players. believe me we will get someone decent.

I still wouldn't be all that upset if Ponce is our O playcaller. I think he is the goods and just hasn't made that P5 move yet. I like his balanced approach.

As I've stated before, whether it's OC or DC, all the names that have been mentioned for either position are fine by me except Coley for OC. Coley as OC would be the first (and I'm sure not the last) eye brow raiser in the Mario regime. Regardless, I'm still rolling with MC even if he makes the Coley mistake!

One other name that came up recently that I thought was intriguing and roll with as well is Tee Martin. I think he's got a good passing game to bring to the table (makes sense as a NC winning QB), but also his recruiting. Out of literally all of the names that have been mentioned for OC, I don't believe any of them would recruit better than Tee Martin. That guy wielding the U symbol as OC, would clean up in O recruiting (assuming all things being equal with NIL).

There's either two scenarios here:

1) People are interviewing for the Miami jobs, not getting them, then using that leverage once they're eliminated as a last ditch effort to get pay raises from their current schools

2) Mario is targeting the wrong people and getting played

I don't think Miami is leaking a **** thing to anyone (Mario seems to have it locked down) so the tweet storm from yesterday seems to have come from their sides. It's tough to remain optimistic when the only info you have access to is negative and the process is dragging on. On the surface, it seems like a rough situation.
It only seems like a rough situation if you assume Mario is incompetent. I don't know why so many of you do, but I guess PTSD explains it.

Yes they are. And my OP was about how this board often assumes everyone from out of state automatically wants to live in Miami, when that's not anywhere close to the truth. You countered with demographics telling you otherwise. So......

You just use generalizations and logical fallacies to deviate everything from seeming like you were wrong in any way. Demographic trends indicate that Miami/South Florida/Florida are places seeing some of the greatest growth and are more desired to live in than the average location. Is that false?

Unless you have something that is more specifically applicable to whatever data pool you're speaking of (which is inconsistent and all over the map to serve your need to use logical fallacies to win an internet argument) then you're the one that is just talking out of your a**. And please don't come at me and act like I think EVERYONE WANTS TO MOVE TO MIAMI. Because neither I nor anyone else in this thread said that.

If you have some sort of strange disdain for Miami, then maybe re-evaluate what you're doing here. Like it or not, the University of MIAMI Hurricanes program is and always will be strongly tied to the community and region in which it is located.

Why is it chaotic? He identified his top choice, offered him, it sounds like Candle was close to saying yes last night, but decided to stay. All of Cristobal’s other options appear to still be on the table. If Candle said yes, everyone here would be puffing their chests saying how crazy it was to pull a HC to come as OC.

I am sure nobody knows but has other people interviewed for OC and this was just first person offered. Or is the search starting from scratch now?
