I think Mario needs to hire excellent coordinators. I'm not sure that the "I've been an OC at 5 different school" retreads are inherently better than the hire of a very talented fast-rising star who will take the reins for the first time.
Whether those particular coaches are "so great" to overcome the inexperience of a first-time coordinator, I would say it's probably not the case with all, though all seven of those schools have great resources and players to help a first-timer out. Let's not forget, Dabo himself was a first time HC elevated directly from position coach, so maybe he has an affinity for first-time coordinators. Fisher and Saban have experience as HC, absolutely. Don't put Kelly on that list, as Orgeron was the guy who made the hires for 2021.
I'll say this about Mario. It has been written previously that Mario has spawned a pretty good coaching tree while at FIU and Oregon. And it's THAT track record that gives me some trust and confidence that Mario has a good eye for building a staff, even if a guy he hires is a "first-time coordinator".
There has been so little leaked information that we have been thrashing the same few names for a month. We have no idea whether one or both of Mario's coordinators will be first-timers, so this is all hypothetical anyhow.
Let's not forget, Mario has previously worked as an OC and/or running game coordinator. I think the most important hire of all involves OC/Passing Game and/or QB, because that is where we have a lot of talent and we need a strong hand on the tiller, particularly with play-calling. DC is not UN-important, but I think a lot of our challenge is flipping Manny's old personnel for newer guys, so I think we could live with a "first-time" DC more easily, if that's who Mario hires.
That's all.
