Now's the time to make the hire. With everything complete in the realm of college football, they'll suck on UGA's nuts for the rest of the morning and afternoon. Hit them with the news tonight or tomorrow and boom - all the talk will be about Miami's OC and/or DC, granted they're perceived as slam dunk coordinators.

Again, dead period ends Friday...not having a at least one solidified coordinator in place by then, would be inexcusable in my eyes - especially if our approach (As Cribby alluded to) has turned from heavy portal to amassing immediate-impact recruits.

First in with “Our new coordinators must be on an NFL team still in the playoffs.”.
If not, then starting to look Mario is maybe gets too thorough. His replacement already has both his coordinators in less time. I'm all about getting it right and no way an alarmist, but it does seem longer than usual.

He DID say staff would be in place by Thursday for the start of recruiting opening back up, so if we take him at his word, we're talking another 48-72 hours max. If it does go beyond that, I'd definitely become a little concerned as we have some big time visits this weekend and it seems maybe some of these transfers maybe went elsewhere because they don't know who will be coaching here. Gotta' lock down these West Coast guys.

Exactly. Especially with these transfers that already went through the whole promise charade in their first recruitment, they now want to be developed and sent to the league. You can tell them over and over "hey, you're going to like X" or "we're going to run X defense, and you're going to do this", but if they don't know who will be developing them...why put your career in the faith of an unknown? I can't blame these kids for looking elsewhere - Banks, Verse, Wells, Bethune, Jones etc. It's definitely had an affect on the portal guys, would be naïve to think otherwise - even if we weren't seriously targeting some of them (but to my knowledge, we were).

These pages are moving too slow, we need 600. Lets ignite the fire.

Didn't Cribby say these announcements were going to originally be made on the 1st? Didn't brooklyndee say by ends week....last week.

Have things gone horribly wrong? Ponce and Hurtt looking like the choice now?

WHAT IS HAPPENING

Other than the staff legit not being complete, there is no valid reason why the OC/DC haven't been announced yet. Of course ppl will say other wise

Yeah, losing Banks was odd, but it was one guy. Now it's five or six transfers that have gone elsewhere. Definitely a red flag for something is off. And I don't buy we're not interested as there have been offers out, so we're clearly interested in some way. I'm all for building through HS guys and cherry picking transfers like Bama, but we're not there yet, so we need some of these dudes.

There is a difference between thorough and indecisive.

I believe part of the frustration may revolve around the idea that this board was led to believe our staff was already hired and just waiting to be announced. If that is truly the case, there is no reason to wait any longer.

On the flip side, I’m starting to think we had some guys lined up that later told Mario “no” in the eleventh hour. And no, I’m not referring exclusively to the RBs coach.

Unfortunately, that makes more sense at this point in time. I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see, but after all this time, Mario has a lot of pressure on him to hit this out of the park.

First domino

Officially concerned about T-Rob...let's see what Bama decides to do.

This better not come down to salary...that's all I'll leave it at. If he prefers Baga or UGA, then fine. But match the contract offers or increase it, he's worth it.

You can kiss Cormani McClain gone if T-Rob bolts as well, and probably will end up a Gaytor. So...here's to hoping that T-Rob telling people he's staying...is confirmed publicly.
