it’s the subtle racism for me.

The had all shades of whites back then, but I don't think they let "The Colored" play in 1943...

However, I do appreciate how, back in 1943, many Polish/Russian people in the USA simplified the spelling of Sienkiewicz to "Sinkwich"...
