If Abdul-Rahim is interviewing does that mean Schuman is likely the DC? They overlapped at Bama and since we would have TRob and Abdul-Rahim the DC would also need to coach LBs. Mason in that scenario would be out since he also has a DB background.

the half back option throw with a glove on thrown by a player who hasn't thrown a pass in 10 years in a snow blizzard on first and ten with the game on the line with an above average quarterback on the team TELLS ME HIS DECISION MAKING PROCESS AS A PLAY CALLER SUCKS. and it is not just THAT ONE INVALIDATING PLAY. he was a terrible OC.
I don't disagree it was a bad play call but then again they may have practiced it countless times for all we know and thought it would work. Then there is the decision making process of the player that factors in too. Maybe the play is not designed to be thrown into double coverage.

Anyway, like Lashlee's repeated inside zone runs even though it has not worked the majority of the time that is also very questionable decision making but he doesn't get so harsh of treatment.

That said, imo Lashlee is a better OC than Coley, no doubt.

JMO, but the fact that Briles hasn't been announced yet likely means he's not it. Schumman makes some sense cause he's still coaching.

Idk, but this whole thing is crazy to me. We're probably the only program in the country that hasn't announced one position coach hire. Weird stuff.

This ONE PLAY invalidates COLEY from calling plays. F.O.R.E.V.E.R.

You know the one thing I never noticed about this play after all these years of sending Coley to **** for calling it...we actually had a WR wide open. LOL. I honestly thought we had nobody downfield all these years.

I'd be happy with Briles or Dorsey, but think I'd prefer Dorsey.

He has so much experience with QBs AND offenses by now. With his work ethic and killer instinct, I would just expect him to out scheme and outwork anybody we come against..plus he's got so many resources he can lean on from his 13+ years in the NFL. He'd bring things to college nobody has seen/experienced. Being somebody Mario is comfortable with and can trust plus the leader of our greatest era in Canes history are just added bonuses.

There's no guarantee he'd be elite.. But he's excelled at everything he's done. He's always overachieved. I'm not sure why we'd expect anything less if he was our OC/QB coach.

Coley as a OC is a disaster hire.

Coley as a position coach is a solid hire.

It’s that simple. Not worth debating though until someone actually gets hired for the OC
Same. I would gladly welcome Coley back as a positions coach, not just for recruiting purposes, but also for the running joke about him as a game planner.

We will win the first half of every game, and given Mario's uneven game day management, it's gonna pretty important for us to get out in front of teams early. Coley is one of the best in the game at game prep and scripts. Adjustment wise, well, he's at ATM for a reason right now.

Who's Coley coaching? TAMU season ended almost a month ago.

You didn't read my whole post. Dorsey would be a score.

And really? Bust? There can't possibly be a human being walking the earth right now that could do the job well? Or is everyone else eliminated because they haven't been discussed on this board? Could be some wild cards out there.
That’s fair. Just saying I want my skirt blown up. Not Chud. Dorsey would be a step down from those others, but I love the guy and would find a way to live with it.

Of the realistic names I’ve heard, I want Brady or Briles.

It's amazing that we have people that wouldn't want one of the best QB coaches on planet Earth here calling plays because we don't know what kind of drag routes he might call.

Pure insanity.
