Mario strikes me as the type of person that would want for his coaches like he would want for himself. Meaning, Mario didn't take the Miami job until he was done with his season at Oregon. I think he maybe doing the same with his coaching hires.
Or he may just want to do them all at one time.

Looks like Briles is most likely the guy

On Tuesday afternoon, Plantation American Heritage five-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss said that he would likely be in attendance for that event as long as his schedule allows him to be. Cristobal personally invited him.

“Yea Cristobal was the one that told me about the Elite Prospect day Yesterday,” Inniss told InsideTheU in a message.

The nation’s No. 9 overall player and No. 1 wide receiver, according to the industry-generated 247sports Composite, backed off of his Oklahoma pledge earlier this month once Lincoln Riley made the move to USC.

Cristobal has been in his ear about staying closer to home and Inniss is listening.

“I feel good about them. I like what they are telling me so far. I can’t wait to see how they run their offense,” Inniss said.

What that looks like is to be determined, but Cristobal is making it known that he expects South Florida’s top receiver to be excited about it.

“All I heard was that I’m going to like it,” Inniss said.

Arkansas offensive coordinator continues to be a name linked to the opening.

Oh my lord, you are making WAY too much sense for the Mario-haters. How dare you provide a logical rebuttal to their "Herbert threw for TWO YARDS LESS PER PASS than a couple of other guys I could name" genius...
If people have legit questions that have been proven true about philosophy with past team articles that makes them a "mario-hater"? Smh

To have some additional fun…. Who recruited those **** receivers?

Which ones, the ones at Alabama or the ones at Oregon? Because the ones at Oregon who played with Herbert were most likely recruited by Helfrich or Taggart.

Daewood Davis: recruited by Jimmie Dougherty (in his 6 weeks on the job under Willie Taggart)
Johnny Johnson III: recruited by Matt Lubick, under Mark Helfrich, committed to Oregon before Taggart was hired
Jaylon Redd: recruited by John Neal, under Mark Helfrich, committed to Oregon before Taggart was hired

And are we supposed to believe that Mario would be able to recruit equivalent wide receivers in his first few weeks at Oregon as he was able to recruit at Alabama?

Just curious.

We're getting in the weeds here but you're just gunna have to prove it cause I simply don't believe it. This is evidence I see that peak is June and July aka Summer:

Gotta love canesinsight

we are having an ice cream war inside a coaching thread 🤣

I believe I saw Mario walked on water in one thread and something about being born in a manger in another, so he could have conceivably recruited all the good receivers under discussion…

I was and am having a little jest because it appears some posters are getting tired of any question about Mario being attacked in some way…

99% of the board is ready to go with Mario anxiously waiting for the answer to the 2 big question marks people have been worried about for a month - OC and DC…

Like all Miami coaches, the big answers come on game days.

Further confirmation on Salave’a for any doubters that may be left. He’s recruiting for Miami:

The No. 5 defensive lineman in the Class of 2023, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, is hearing from the staff daily at this point.

"They text me like every day. Coach Cristobal and Joe [Salave'a]. They keep saying I'm their top priority. They really want me," Wayne said.

Salave'a has been a big part of Wayne's recruitment since the infant stages. The future Hurricanes defensive line coach is held in high regard by the All-American Bowl commit.

"He's good at developing players and his energy, the way he coaches, the way he talks. He's confident and he wants to win," Wayne said.

Low risk, high reward. Super down.

I have no doubts several already hired if not most. Just think Mario waiting to announce them all at once when everything is finalized

It's always about the team. Sometimes individuals need to be showcased for the betterment of the team. Look at how TVD made us look. If and when Mario selects an OC who builds his offense around TVD (and then Garcia) and allows our best players to maximize our collective offensive potential, the [seemingly fair] Herbert mentions will go away. Till then, people are worried the issue will be repeated. It happens. I believe (maybe hope?) Mario learned from the experience.
Biggest Herbert fan on the board, but how do you know Herbert wouldn't have been over-exposed if he was featured at that juncture of his career? Why make the team one-dimensional, and who's to say that balance isn't the reason he was the 3rd (should have been 2nd) QB drafted? It's first-rate Monday-morning QB'ing and playing the result to think Oregon would have been national-championship better if they tried to make Herbert into Joe Burrow..

Also, part of the reason TVD made us look good is because we couldn't run the football. It was in the face of an abysmal running game that routinely put us behind the sticks with negative plays, and sheer desperation to save jobs that Lashlee completely abandoned the running game and threw the ball 9 straight times against NCSt. TVDs ascendance wasn't by design but it declared itself to be our strength and Lashlee went with it.

Personally I think Herbert will always be a hot and cold type of QB. Like Phillip Rivers oddly enough for the Chargers. I remember when he was in college and Daniel Jeremiah said on his podcast he seems to lose focus at times and doesn’t really see the situation properly all the time. Not sure if that’s indicative of coaching or just his makeup. I would’ve thrown it a lot more if I was Mario & Co. but again I don’t know the other side of this beyond what we saw on Saturdays.
This is exactly it.. They knew what they had and who's to say they didn't help him shine by not putting him a position to fail.

I don't know that and didn't suggest it.

All good, I was just curious about the overall rationale. I think it is hard to draw any particular conclusions when a HC has only had the job for 4 or fewer seasons. Doesn't mean there aren't partial explanations, and I'm not making an excuse for ANYONE, I'm just pointing out that after 4 years on the job, I usually attribute "full ownership" to a particular coach.

I do think that if the "Portal" had been more of a thing in Mario's first year as Oregon OC, he may have addressed things by adding a more proven upperclassman or two at WR, I believe that all three of the guys mentioned were in the same basic recruiting class, so they were all young pups trying to make Herbert look good.

The writer is very presumptuous. The kid was probably referring to Joe Echevarria, to whom Frenk delegated an on-field coaching job during this time of transition...

This is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT on the Dolphins and that idiotic fan-based "Tank for Tua" campaign.
