Sheeeit. I'd say statistics say less than that. When it comes to playcalling, context is everything. On offenses, I love to see how coaches approach down and distance. And, how they approach blitzes. I think you're right re: the instinct. Some people have it; most don't. Playcalling is more art than science.

The OC hire is way more important IMO.

Dominant Defenses don’t exist anymore, even the Elite UGA Defense that everybody drooled over all year got yanked all over the field by Bill O’Brien & Bama’s Offense for 536 yards & that wasn’t even peak Bama offense.

Even Michigans stout Defense got ran over by Mich St & gave up 431 yards vs a bum *** Nebraska team.

Exactly this. I'd love Schumann because of his recruiting and potential upside. But even if he turned into Kirby Smart 2.0 he'd still eventually give up 400+ yards and 48 points to a legit offense. It's just a different game these days.

I'd honestly rather they go with a smaller name vs the Muschamp, Todd Orlando, Kevin Steele, etc. You've seen what they can do at a big time program and it's been mixed results so far.

Give me a Belk, Tressel, **** even Reeves from UAB or Brad Lambert from Purdue over those guys. Lambert history reminds me of Jim Knowles. At worst I think these guys produce similar results to the big names. At best, they're hungry and want to prove themselves which could be worth the risk.

I'm a broken record on Brad Lambert. Would be an excellent choice.

No offense but seems arbitrary, and given the bowl games we care about basically end within the next week or so, this is easy for him to say. Also spending next week finalizing doesn’t mean it’ll be announced.

I hope this is done shortly after these respective bowl games, however.

That’s probably how he guessed it though. If that’s what we’re waiting for then they’ll be announced Saturday/Sunday.
