They had no choice but to run the ball. Anthony brown is garbage

During Mario's time as Co-OC and HC, they recruited 4 QBs. (Correction - it was 5)

If none of those guys were good enough or ready and Brown was your best option, you need to do better with QB evaluation and development. Brown should not be starting on a top15 team. Playing him was a choice.

This is simply true. How do you watch even ten minutes of tape on this guy at BC and say, “yup, that’s our guy”?

Lashlee was far from perfect but the amount of **** he gets online is mind boggling. Do these fans not trust their eyes when they see how dramatically he improved the Offense compared to the last 15 years we have had?
SMU didn’t hire him as their HC because “hE sUcKs bRo!” There was a sh*t ton of options they could’ve gone with to be the successor of Sonny Dykes, they picked him for a reason.

Then people say it was all TVD, but have no explanation for how we went 8-3 with King.

I believe they had a 5 Star QB on roster Ty TThompson and lost there last QB to the portal in Tyler Shough. They really should of taken another QB in the portal. I hope Mario learned his lesson with that one. In my opinion there is no excuse for us to have anything less than a 3000+ Yard 25+ TD QB every year at Miami with how many QBs hit the portal

The jury is still out on whether he has that "Kirby Smart syndrome" when it comes to QBs.

Shough sucked too. He was ran outta town. Mario has handled the QBs in a toned down Kirby manner. But I truly love the guy and will give him the opportunity to do his thing

Kirby landed Brock Vandagriff last year. You have to think it's only a matter of time before that kid takes over. I expected him to get reps in their blowouts this year. It just never materialized.

@Cribby

You may have already said something on this...but any interest in Tosh Lupoi?

He's getting some rumored interest by Dan Lanning for Oregon, and there is an obv connection here with Mario, so just soft tossing this one out there.

He also landed Justin Fields, how did that turn out?
I could see Vandagriff enter the portal if he doesn’t get any playing time next year.

That's not what I said at all, but I'm not going to have a full blown argument on a message board, it's just not worth it.

I wish Lashlee well at SMU - I think he'll succeed there. I hope our next OC is better.

Good point. Still have no idea what he saw in Fromm.
Kirby is probably the type of coach who likes seniority over pure talent at the QB position. Prefers a 1 TD-0 int game than a 3TD 1 int by his QB.
Mullen was the same way at UF.

UGA wasn't winning in spite of Fromm. He QB’d them to the NC the season before. Smart’s mistake was not working Fields into more games.

In hindsight, Fields never should have chosen UGA. He should have selected Ohio State, or elsewhere, from the beginning. He’s a better athlete and more talented than Fromm, but who benches a starter that took your team to a NC game?

So we just converted from Pro Style to a real college football offense, got way more production and you want to convert right back to a pro style, which helped put our program in the shape it was in because we were holding on to the past due to winning championships with the Pro Style before college football moved on without it.

We don't need the pro style anywhere near this program again. We don't need Dorsey nor Pep Hamilton anywhere near our athletes.

How many years did we hear this or that QB couldn't learn the playbook or this or that WR ran the wrong pattern or this QB expected the WR to do something different. That is why we need a college football offense. Lashlee's offense is simplistic yet TVD had to catch up to it. Imagine if this was a significantly more difficult to learn pro style. We finally have an offense that was simple to learn for college athletes and we don't have WR's running the wrong routes etc.

On top of it it is easier to recruit to the spread vs the Pro Style because you don't have to recruit all of the absolute highest football IQ players. Our athletes get to be athletes instead of thinking too much. If you want a bunch of our roster to turn over and leave the program we will convert to the pro style again. These players committed to come here and play in a wide open spread offense and you want the pro style? Our roster is set up for the spread. We already don't have the best OL to block for a pro style offense either.
What does any of that have to do with Dorsey and his candidacy for the OC position because I don't see any connection whatsoever. I'm in the camp that Dorsey needs to cut his teeth as a play caller somewhere else first. Still I don't understand you saying that we don't want Dorsey anywhere near our athletes. I'm not getting your logic behind that statement.

Amen!

What is amazing to me is after all of the years that we were unproductive running a pro style and then we convert to a more simplistic spread so our athletes can be athletes vice thinking too much (and being slower) and folks want to revert right back to it. KISS (keep it simple stupid - and fast for that matter).
Again no idea what you are talking about as far as reverting to pro style. I haven't seen anyone here who wants to go back to a pro style. Also what does not wanting to go back to a pro style (I don't want to go back to Pro Style and don't know anyone who does, I prefer a spread air raid system) have to do with Ken Dorsey? I'm not getting the connection.
