Some names to watch before it’s deleted

Oregon averaged 28.4 passes per game which ranked 93rd in the country.

Miami averaged 39.9 passes per game which ranked 11th in the country.

😬
10 more throws with a guy of TVD’s caliber versus the scrub they had makes complete sense to me. After watching that guy play over last 4 or 5 weeks I probably would have dropped that number down to 20 if I was Ducks OC

Lanning is also pushing for Schuman at Oregon. Uga could always up his pay but I was told he wants to call plays. Maybe the new names popping up means they’ve received an answer. All I know is Schuman was definitely an option , he’s one of the few names I’ve heard as a definite possibility. I also know there’s still a chance more Oregon coaches could come as well. Regardless Mario has had this whole thing locked down. That’s why there’s not much reporting staff.
Hoping having more autonomy at Miami tips the scales in our favor for Schuman. Lanning and Kirby are both former DCs who are heavily involved in that side of the ball. Here he should have a lot more freedom to build the defense under his own vision.

Yeah by if you have ever been a receiver, 57% seems like **** near every play… perspective.

Again, I'm not saying the kid doesn't believe it...but he needs to have some perspective too. He also said that he knew Oregon was run-first, so it is confusing as to what he thinks he was promised vs. what he seems to have received.

I mean, if there had been a coaching and/or coaching philosophy change...whatever, I don't hate the kid, I just think his complaints are full of crap. He doesn't need "reasons" to transfer, all 50 states are now "no fault divorce" states. But he just keeps going on and on and on with bogus reasons.

I agree with you, I was really joking because I used to say stuff like that when I played WR.

Fair point, then. WRs ALWAYS want the **** ball!

Yep. I'm a terrible human.

DJ Durkin for DC
Rick Court for Strength coach
Brian Kelly for Chief Video Coordinator for overhead film during hurricanes
Keep Vinny Scavo for head of player injury diagnostics
Speaking of Vinny.. how numbered are his days?

We should be shopping from the Alabama analyst room, probably an NFL head coach or two that come can coordinate for us.

Is Belk still in the mix? He’s an interesting option - a year of playcalling under his belt as full DC, and had great results this year.

So we're going to believe this sudden report, when it's been made clear the media doesn't know **** and is just trying to get clicks (as evidenced by the AD and HC firings)? Yeah, cap.

Also, is Lanning not calling plays at Oregon? Seems like he would - and thus (in theory) eliminate Schumann as an option there. Using common sense (there isn't a lot of this amongst CIS brethren), Muschamp wouldn't stay on if he wasn't calling plays; the only way he would was if he somehow became complacent in the last year or so, and is cool cashing checks and being around family. If he's the same fiery guy, his ego is too big for that.

What I don't want - and the more we wait, the more I fear this will occur - is Mario just brings a majority of his staff over here; that's a bit lazy given our supposed budget, imo.

He's the exact type of OC Mario seems to go for. Ball control, boring, straight forward. Maybe he picked up some new tricks from Sean Payton, but a guy like Chaney I think is our floor. I'd take him over Brady.
Yep I think I speak for a lot of people on here - HOPING for Kendal Briles - because that's not the type of OC Mario typically goes for

If we do better than Kendal Briles, great. But Chaney isn't one of those options

I'm sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at such an absurdly poor take. You think that the exact offense that we don't want here (and I think you don't want here as well) is better than Joe Brady....I just...I can't understand it.

Pass me whatever drugs you are consuming, because it's multiple; if I misinterpreted your post, then forgive me (booster got my brain playing scrabble) but I don't think I did.

After seeing Brown play I was surprised it was that high as well. You have to play to your talent and there isn't a world where you look at Anthony Brown and choose to throw it 40 to 50 times a game. Just not playing to his strengths. Now why they stuck with him is a valid concern and it may just be the other guys did not show they were ready which may be why Moorehead is the HC at Toledo now rather than having a chance to be OC at Miami.
