He has a 2 year show cause. Not sure if this year counts as 1 of those 2. Also not sure if hiring the guy as analyst means you still have to explain why you hired him to the NCAA which is what the show cause requires. Honestly not sure you need to hire Atkins to get him. Supposedly that was why he stuck with FSU but if the show cause and/or Atkins not wanting to offset his buyout so he can stick to FSU keeps from taking a job next year than Thomas is going to have to go somewhere he is not.

Prison Mike really screwed over Atkins. He’s probably their best recruiter and did all the “dirty” work…hence the Show Cause.

I don’t believe Atkins is employable because of the Show Cause. His only chance was to remain on staff until the 2-year term is served. Now he’s out and will find it VERY difficult to get a job.

Ouch.

I agree 100%. He failed miserably at identifying talent and developing that OL. He deserves to lose his job as OL coach. He was TERRIBLE at his primary job.

I’m just saying he also did a lot of the other “stuff” that Mike needed to recruit players. Atkins was often mentioned by recruits as one of the reasons they chose fsu…some nole insiders thought he would get reassigned to the recruiting staff while he served out his sentence.

Yes, ouch, but he gets paid. He has a buyout just like Mike does. So it's not like they fired him, he gets no money, and he can't go get another job for 2 years. If he wants to, he can go be an analyst somewhere, or he can go fishing with a ton of money in his pocket for a year.

He'll get another job just fine once the show cause is up. Mark ******* Onofrio has had multiple jobs. Mike Bobo is the OC at UGA. You can't kill these guys, EVER, nevermind after one disaster season. Someone else will hire him after he tells them this was all Norvell's fault.

I still wonder if UF is going to slip in here and take this kid. I hope Mario can land him because he’s ******* proved it and we have PT available at RG next year!

He wants to stay with FSU, but they are making it difficult for him. If we want him, we are going to have to chase hard and pony up and play his games. I don't know if it's worth the time, energy, and money at this point.

Not sure about 2 future 1st round picks on our OL (I can see CiCi) but it appears we will be set at the tackle position next year with CiCi and Bell as starters. If our other young guys continue to develop, our back ups might be good enough when called upon. I agree, it's not position of need when compared to several other positions.
