That seems to be the main driver here. If Mario's not after him, there's reason. We know he's willing to pay up for OL he wants.

Always good when one of our main rivals doesn't get a top recruit that was committed to them for almost a year. That being said, I kind of hope he ends up being the Cormani McClain of the OL for this year's recruiting class.

Thomas seems to be more mature than McClain and not a mama's boy, but he's already bringing too much drama.

If FSU was in a better position I think they would have gotten him. But FSU wasnt willing to pay the "suck tax" it sounds like. Mario knows about this all too well and has been paying it the last two cycles. Glad we are finally out of the woods with that crap and not letting recruits hold us hostage like they are doing us a favor by coming. We are a 10 win team..lets start acting like it. Let UF and FSU pay the "suck tax" for once.

Maybe I'm naïve but I think he's saying he can't sign with a team who just went 2-10, fired his OL coach (well liked) & who's future is so uncertain. Business decision isn't strictly about money.
