Yea because everyone wouldn't take more money and go to their dream job.


Butch turned his back on us for Cleveland. Jimmy went to the cowboys. Howard left for a bad football league. But yea golden Is the first to do it.

The differences being

1. Those coaches actually achieved things here and didn't bolt once they realized they had no idea what they were doing (Golden)
2. They weren't complete **** ups who got turned down for those jobs

Golden is a lame duck now. The only thing left to do is to ride out the cloud he brought.

And butch didn't accomplish anything big before he left. As far as wins. Talent he recruited is a different story.

You realize we only had 1 loss the year he left right?

You realize the team we lost to only played 2 whole other teams with a winning record, and should have been crushed by us? Under coker the very next season we beat the same team 65-7.

Butch was/is a magnificent recruiter. No doubt. But, if you dont remember him being a horrific gameday coach, then you werent watching the canes. Larry the clown walked in and did what butch will forever be incapable of: letting the team win. And won an nc. I could write a novel on his blunders, but the 99 ecu game has to be one of my faves. Goes up 23-0 and pulls starters in the 2nd ******* quarter. A team that beat us by almost 30 the last time he faced them. He refuses to put them back in until ecu takes the lead. By then, the O players were ice cold and game over. Also, in his first season we were preseason #10. We were unranked in a matter of weeks on our way to 8-3.

Props for butch and his recruiting genius, but it was a glorious day he left our sidelines.

Don't try and re-write history. Granted we should have won that game, I was there, but don't make it out that Udub wasn't a good team. They had the 4th hardest SOS that year. We were ranked 4 and they were 15 when we met. It wasn't as if they were an FCS school.

This is stupid. So then how did Clemson manage to be top 10 and win 12 games with only an Elite WR, OG and place kicker? They have less "ELITE" talent than UF and UNC AND Louisville...

Everyone knows we don't have the talent to be elite.

Everyone should also know we have enough talent to beat VT at home and at Duke (who has 0 on the list). We were blown out in both games, we were embarrassed in the bowl game vs Louisville.

I don't see Wake Forest up there either (0). Barely got out of that one alive.

So by your statements, any coach who ever loses to a team that they should crush is not a good gameday coach. Gundy and Ok St were legit and they lost to Iowa St in a year they should have been in the title game. I guess Gundy must be a garbage on the field coach.
