First, let me say I've been a fan of this program since growing up in Key West in the early 80's and have been coming to this site for years to get information, never to post. I've found this site to be the best when it comes to information. The reason I decided to post today is because I'm fed up - angry - ticked off at these local kids making a mockery of this beloved program. It's akin to a loved one, or family member, being there fsor you throughout your life, supporting you, and then you spit in their face and haul butt for money. You hear, "Well they're going to Georgia to win!." Win What?? What exactly has Georgia won in the last 30-plus years? Also if you really "LOVE" the 305 like you claim, why are you going to clown us on national television? Second, people say, "If you win they will come." How the **** can we win if they don't come in the first place? Want to become sick to your stomach? Sit down and comprise a list of all the local kids who spurned Miami the last 10-15 years. We'd probably have 10 NC's by now, no joke. What needs to happen is this: When these kids return to Miami like, "Wassssup, we all good right?", we need to turn our backs on them and loudly say, "Nah, it AIN'T all good bruh." We should have zero respect for these dudes and make our feelings well known. You like Athens so much then go live there, permanently, because you aren't welcome here anymore. Again, I've really enjoyed reading your comments for years now and thank you for letting me vent.

I agree that what Bogle and Stevenson did was really disrespectful. If they've known for weeks or even months where they were going, don't make it a point to troll all the local fans by making it seem like the U was still in it. Bogle in particular was a total diva through the whole process, then had the balls to make it seem like he might have come here if Kul had stayed, as if that was ever really a factor.

And before anyone starts ripping the coaches for not knowing or continuing to engage with them, just stop. It's their job to fight to the bitter end to try and flip them, even though they know exactly what's going on.

Never been one of those "Just shut up and sign" guys. Don't care about kids having their time in the sun. It's things like blatantly asking for Canes fans to follow him on Twitter while openly trying to build drama, to then troll your own local school that's wrong.

Give them something to respect! It took a washed up coach donating $1mil for us to get a IPF. Something sunbelt teams even have. We take our ACC money and out it to the marine biology program instead of reinvesting in the biggest revenue generator st the school.

Theres no reason a school with the tradition and local talent we have to go 7-6 and get blown out by Wisconsin. And even then, we didnt really make the appropriate changes. The problem decided to quit.

I hate seeing it but I dont blame kids for going elsewhere. I hate the disrespect but that's what happens when the mighty fall. Everyone starts taking shots.

Once our admin starts understanding the value of a successful football program, they will come! Right now it seems the focus is on being competitive instead of winning. And I dont respect that either!

I’m in the same boat. I’ve been here since the Grassy days and rarely post but I’m just straight tired of this garbage. These kids need to be made uncomfortable locally. I said it in another post but I’ll say it again. We need to raise funds to put a billboard on I95 each year that’s says 2019 Traitors with all of their names on it and pictures of bags. It can then be updated each year as this **** continues.

Manny speaks of needing to "change the culture". While I obviously agree with him, he has a LOT of work to do. We need all hands on deck (higher ups at the U on down) getting this program right again. We've lollygagged for the better part of 2 decades now. Good luck Manny!

Do you have an article that shows we used athletic funding for the marine biology program?

They are a bunch of divas and this theory that we won with all s fla talent back in the day is nonsense. Texas, Cali, NJ, PA, entire NE, and La, all states we used to hit hard. So, go after the gimmies that are going to be Canes no matter what from S Fla, get them locked in and then recruit nationally. Sell Miami being far away from LA, Houston, or sell the tropics of Miami to all the NE kids.

When you win 1 bowl game in the last 12 years it’s typically a sign that your program might be headed in the wrong direction. Interesting that the 1 year we did win our bowl game we had the best recruiting class in almost a decade.

That is an entire different level of ineptness and incompetence 1 bowl win in last 12 seasons!

It’s funny that this streak started around the time the Patrick Peterson’s of the world started getting paid to go to the SEC......

If anyone finds teams bowl records since say 2000 please post much appreciated. The Canes have to be near to the basement among the major programs. To lose a bowl game it can happen of course. However to lose the way this team has and with as much regularity is mystifying. So my point is until we solve the bowl losing streak/problem I don’t think the blue chip recruits are going to take this program very seriously. After the WVU game I thought with Rick we may have solved it then Wisky happened. Wisky!

We also aren’t playing the Alabegas, Ohio States and Clemsons of the world in these games either. The opponents are typically very mediocre teams and they look like world beaters and we of course look like dog ****.

We need to beat the teams we have no business losing to. Never lose to a Duke a BC or a Virginia. Never under any circumstance. I think that is a good starting point. We also need to have consistent 10 win seasons. Once winning is restablished the recruits will come. Guys want to be successful and get to the league.

Well maybe we would beat the Wiskys of the world if we had a 5 star corner covering their wrs instead of jhavonte dean....

Bingo.

I don't pretend to have all the answers, when scrub teams are out recruiting us, it is time to do a complete reversal of approach. I will say this til I'm on my death bed, leaving the BE was THE MISTAKE. Our admin, just like our fans, think we can hang out and spend all our time recruiting the south, well guess what, ever since we left the BE we took that approach and we have been ***. Half our starting dline was from NJ on last champ team. We didn't hear the talk about it was too cold, we played in Boston, Philly, NJ, every other year and unless it was some crazy storm there was never mention of weather effecting us. WE GOT SOFT. Matter of fact, we got S Fla soft. Old s fla canes were hungry man, those kids didn't grow up being given everything because of slime balls in youth football. These kids have been given everything for years now. Miami was the only school doing that back then, working with these kids since they were 5. Now you deal with handlers looking to profit off talented kids. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Ya know ericane it's funny you mention that because I almost posted that thought during my initial post. It's hard to point to a singular moment in time where things changed but if I had to that would be it. If I remember correctly he was committed to us forever and then flipped at the final hour to LSU. Thus began a mass exodus of kids spurning us for SEC teams. Here's my problem, it's one thing to lose a kid to FSU stuff like that has always happened(and vice-versa), but I get really miffed when they diss us for these SEC schools. Tyrique even said recently that Athens was the most boring, god-awful town he's ever been to.

Im not from miami but i cant understand how these kids and the miami community are cool with disrespecting the university of miami.

These kids would rather go play in front of a bunch of racist rednecks than stay home and bring Miami back to the top of college football. While Alabama, Oklahoma, and Notre dame were still playing whiteboy football Miami was bringing in local black athletes and changing college football. Does the Miami community not remember this?
