SIAP, but Rohan now on stadium committee.

Here's a fun fact about Rohan... a lot of people think Santana coined the phrase "big time players make big time plays in big games" but it if you watch the 1994 Miami vs fsu game, Rohan says it right in front of a camera on the sidelines during the middle of the game.

How in the world do people remember these kinds of things? Year, game, etc.

Because they are trying to change the perception of the university of Miami being broke and not giving a ****. I doubt a billionaire booster needs to create a scam to hang out with players..
I didn't say a scam.......i meant an attention getting pipe dream.

Downtown; specifically Overtown. That's where the focus should be...

The Coral Gables/On-Campus talk is just a waste of time & money because the infrastructure isn't there.

They need to talk to community leaders in Overtown and form an alliance around community revitalization. If he's going to move anyone there are plenty of communities downtown that could benefit from economic investment and opportunities for families to move elsewhere via vouchers & home ownership programs.

That's what Ruiz should be thinking about, and anything else is a vanity project.

Terrific post. That’s exactly why this really *looks* like a vanity project.

One question though… Tropical Park does appear to be viable from an infrastructure perspective. And we all know how corrupt Miami is - money can surely overcome any municipal issue associated with using tropical park for a stadium site - so what’s the reason Tropical Park isn’t a viable site?

It's viable & close to campus, but less accessible to the general public.

Ok but I haven't heard anything about these guys n the NIL. I have heard alot about the stadium. NIL deals will get u results immediately.

Just b/c u haven’t heard of it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. I’m just saying it doesn’t have to be a either or. A NIL deal can happen in the blink of an eye; a multi million dollar, up to a billion dollar project needs planning 2day, hence the chatter.

Again, like I said in my OP, I don’t get some of u guys.

Listen, the stadium may not be a possibility due to politics, but the complaining that boosters, former players, and our AD mentioning having our own stadium is a good thing, not sure why there is so much push back. B/c of traffic? Lol.

Here’s a fun fact, any stadium in a metropolitan city is going to create traffic. It took me 45 mins to get some **** chicken this past Sunday b/c I forgot The Chargers were playing. The place is literally a 7 min WALK. Was I ****ed about being stuck for some cot **** chicken??! Yes; but I also understood that’s the cost.

It is what it is. Again, it feels the push back is due to inconvenience, and a problem that plagued this University, which is y we’re at where we are now, is thinking short term vs long term. I see some fans r thinking short term vs long term. We just saw the most profitable Top 25 Universities listed; u know what else they all have in common? They all have their own stadium or a vested profitable interest in a stadium (see SC’s 8 figure naming rights to LA Coliseum).

@Tru C & @rok

Sorry for them typos; was ****ed off this am. Lol.

Someone needs to let this guy know Miami boosters are debating which local high school to demolish in order to build a football stadium.

No greater sign that THE U IS BACK then us finally getting our priorities right
