SIAP, but Rohan now on stadium committee.

Why not both?

Agreed. It gets aggravating but I have to remember what Miami has historically been in terms of commitment. So, to some extent I understand this defeated and pessimistic attitude by some of the fans. I am glad guys like Rad, Mario and boosters like Ruiz are leading us to a new culture of going for the gusto and letting the balls haaaaang.

I hope these guys can figure a way to do it and get it done.

I'm not going to hold my breath though, not because of the logistics, politics, and other obstacles in the way because if they want it bad enough, they can get it done. My doubt has more to do with Ruiz gifting $500+ million. That is a big chunk of change for one guy to give for charity basically. It definitely looks positive because of the coaching staff salary increase. He has really come through so far to his credit.
Nice to see there is life of intelligence in Broward. Good post. I would add, the University has to find ways to contribute their part to make this happen. It’s unfair and unrealistic for the Ruiz family to foot the entire bill. This is an opportunity Miami can’t afford to lose.

Yup I'm sure that's gonna happen.
Stephen Ross leases the stadium grounds for tennis tournaments, concerts and now F1 racing. He’s totally not interested in maximizing every dollar he can get from that stadium

Stephen Ross is 81 years old. We are talking about a pro stadium. If you dont think things can happen with pro stadiums and the franchises that operate them, ESPECIALLY football, then i dont know what to tell you. The 2nd largest market in LA went years without a team. What is to stop the next owners from jacking up the rent on UM because they know UM has NO OTHER OPTIONS

This whole stadium business is starting to sound a little gimick to me tbh.
Feel like dude just wants to hang out with players. Why cant our boosters just do their **** more quietly like on other teams? We have to have loud idiots who need all the spotlight. I'm already tired of him. Given the article Barry Jackson wrote saying the school hasn't asked boosters for any money for all these moves, i'm not sure exactly what he has contributed other than his victory laps.

And the university would be maximizing their dollar by owning..

Sarcasm, huh. You never know. A new owner comes along and wants Miami out for whatever reason, they can push us out. Not saying it will happen but you’re naive if you think it won’t happen. Either way, owning your own stadium is better business for the University of Miami.

Rohan’s coffee coming to a stadium near you.

Because they are trying to change the perception of the university of Miami being broke and not giving a ****. I doubt a billionaire booster needs to create a scam to hang out with players..

Instead of throwing this money at a stadium why can't we work this money into a NIL deal like Texas paying these lineman.

I'm sure there are better ways to use the money where we can see results asap. Like in recruiting.
How about they do both…go big or go home…

I believe there’s still 10 years left on the current lease. Terms of a future lease would be agreed upon years before signing it. This isn’t a yearly lease of an apartment. If the Dolphins ownership were really interested in pricing out Miami, the university would have time for a contingency plan.

He ain’t a billionaire yet. The company that supposedly will be valued at 33BN through a SPAC deal has generated no meaningful revenue to date.
