Because of LSU's Title IX fiasco with Coach O and The Hat it was toxic for them and they couldn't execute the deal. Lincoln happens to have the same agent as Brian Kelly (Trace Armstrong) That is no coincidence why Kelly out of nowhere ends up at LSU. USC had 3 high profile boosters who said they didn't care about pending litigation they would take care of it and risk it.
