Right. Win or loss, not much would have changed with Bama.. Saban would still be coaching and they will spend what they spend on football/recruiting. If UGA had lost or gotten embarrassed last night, things would look and feel a whole lot different in Athens this spring.
With his best team ever.. a loss last night? With everything I know uga would be in panic mode

Ya Georgia not winning the title would have cost Kirby his job and all momentum.

The **** you read on CIS is amazing at times. Jesus. Facepalm.

You’re being purposely dense brother and that’s your choice. But if you want to be shortsighted that’s on you. Nobody said he would be fired today.. or even tomorrow.

One game ? Dog they made it to the Natty and are top 5 yearly. This one game ain't change ****. Clowney went to SCAR and they still suck. UM wins this one no matter if it was Michigan vs Cincy lol. Y'all trip cause they won a Natty. It's about closers....on field shut don't mean anything recruiting and on field are separate entities.
Woah there fam. I admit they suck now but we were good AF when we had Clowney before he checked out his final year.

Believe it or not, but if you know you know.. and Kirby’s run didn’t have too much longer.. a championship just kept the resources flowing, kept his job for as long as he wanted. A loss here tonight and we wouldn’t have had to worry about Georgia anymore for a good while. Now.. well.. you’ll see
I don't understand how people don't realize that ANYONE, let alone UGA, a team that recruits the **** out of our territory, winning a championship is a bad thing.

Playoff era winners before last night: Bama, Clemson, LSU, OSU.
Who do we lose the most recruiting battles to? LSU is a bit of an outlier because of how quickly they collapsed, but (and maybe this changes a bit with Mario) we've lost lots of battles H2H recruiting against Clemson, Bama, and OSU. Now we have to throw UGA into the mix and they were already doing a pretty **** good job... People can yell Mario and everything all they want but this makes things harder than they were.

Yes I'm dense for thinking your post is absurd given recent UGA history.

Turn your electronics off and do us all a favor for 24 hours.

If UGA lost last night they'd consider their own season a failure. That pessimism and negativity around the program has a trickle down effect. Maybe it's one less booster or one less recruit or one more talented player transferring, but it happens. Losing the natl title would have slowed UGA down some and took some shine off their program. You think Tyrique transfers if they won a title last year? Being #1 vs #2 matters..and UGA, for the first time in 40+ years, has a legitimate claim to being #1. No matter how well they were doing before that, it helps them.

So with that win I guess UGA is signing all the top players in florida for 2023 or 2024 is what you're saying. Doesn't matter much if the U wants to be great again they have to go thru Bama, UGA, Ohio St, Texas a&m no matter what for recruits and on field performance, one game not gonna tilt it that much

bruh we've lost H2H battles to Willie, to Champ, to shark ***ka, to Mullen, **** we've even lost H2H battles to Maryland. Don't act like Miami losing kids wasn't a result of how terrible the people running Miami were. UGA winning doesn't change anything in the bigger picture. Just like Kirby had to come in and out recruit Saban, Meyer, Dabo, EddO, Jimbo to get UGA where they are. It's Mario job to out recruit Saban, Kirby, Dabo, Jimbo etc to get us to where we want to be. That's why he's here to bring in the big time kids same reason UGA went after Kirby who was Saban big recruiting Ace.

Stewart ain't coming cause bama lost.....UGA who recruited elite before last night will get everyone now. Imagine if this were true there would be one national title winner in the last 100 years. Imagine if just the winner got all the recruits lol. Stop worrying y'all Stewart staying home.

It means they will sign more. Yes. How is that not obvious fam?

Ya'll are killing me with acting like winning the **** championship is just "one game". It's literally the thing you want to win when you play in college. One game. SMH.

Losing kids was def a result of coaches being bad, especially the times where we lost kids to schools that aren't even that good like you mention.

But this def does change the bigger picture. There is now a 4th active HC that has win a ship--one that recruits in our area no less. This validates UGA and their recruiting. Kirby telling kids they are building something so they can win it all is now the truth instead of just hope. Mario can still recruit and will do so at an elite level, but it will be that much harder than it would have been if Saban won again.

And a decade of Alabama dominance hadn't already proven that?
No, because no one has been able to replicate their success. Georgia has been dumping loads of cash for the last six years since Kirby got there but previously never got over the hump. As others have mentioned, doubt was beginning to creep into fans' minds that maybe it would never work. Bama was a machine that seemed impossible to replicate.

On the other hand, we have no idea how long Kirby Smart will be at UGa. Outside of Saban-Bama, let's look at the history of SEC coaches who won National Championships...

2019 - LSU - Orgeron - fired 2 years later
2010 - Auburn - Chizik - fired 2 years later
2008 - Florida - Meyer - "medically retired" 2 years later

Let's see if Kirby is still running UGa in 3 years. If so, he'll be the first SEC coach (not named Saban) to make it to Year Championship+3 in 15 years.
