Dawson is a straight up dude would be happy to keep him. He flat out said last year before the year how big having a good QB is. He said it's pretty easy to tell the years I've had a good QB we were good and when we didn't we weren't so good. He knows.

Almost every QB Dawson has picked or helped develop during his career has been good. Geno Smith, Clayton Tune, Cam Ward, Nick Mullens.

He’s set records as OC at almost every school he’s been at
SF Austin - most points in a single game
WVU - most total yards and points in a single season
Southern Miss - most passing yards in a single game
Miami? Right now.

Again Holgorsen was calling the offense at WVU. He stopped in 2020. Again the conversation was about him being a HC at a P4 school not an OC.

We got an alum who worked in football who has stated several times that Dawson called plays.

Lashlee had a good reputation as an OC. He actually made TVD look like a future first round pick. We also had a connection to SMU. Manny hired him away from the Mustangs.

As I posted earlier, Houston may be a better future opportunity than ECU or Southern Miss. Dawson has a connection, coaching prior to being hired by Mario. P4 conference. Recruiting in Texas. The money behind the school is investing in the program. HC Willie Fritz is in his first year though, so there is time before his chair gets warm.

Dawson would be silly to leave Miami at this time. Stay and continue working to build the program up with Mario. Prove this season’s success with Cam is not only based on Cam, but also quality coaching. Negotiate an extension and raise and live in Southern Florida on a $1M+ salary.

Dawson didn’t look too bad early last year went before TVD fell off a cliff. Van Dyke’s nearly 400-yard five touchdown performance against TAMU wasn’t too shabby.
