Shannon Dawson Q (play calls and game plan)

He had some nice calls and some variety in formations I really liked. They still used a ton of max protect stuff and sent three guys out against 7 defenders but Cam was able to punish them with scrambles if the defense just dropped into deeper zones.

Underrated play I really liked was when they were backed up near the goal line and they lined up Arroyo in the backfield as an H back. On the snap, he released across the formation like he was going to block a split zone and drew in the linebacker, he ran right past the linebacker for an easy 10 yard pass that the defense was completely lost on. Really nice play design.
This, the run action on the first Fletcher TD and the quick Brown catch that should have been a TD were plays that stuck out to me. I also thought going under center inside the red zone was a nice wrinkle

Very similar design on Lofton's 35 yard catch late in the game too.

As we've been saying all off-season, we have ridiculously talented personnel on offense and it *SHOULD* lead to a ton of variety and creativity. Well, Dawson didn't disappoint. I saw Arroyo lined up in the slot, I saw him lined up in-line, I saw him lined up as an H-back and as you said, he was also in the backfield in a split-I "fullback" position.

Use. Your. Weapons.

Shannon Dawson OC has what it takes, but the real challenge is for Shannon Dawson, Sports Psychologist. It takes a soft touch to take a caveman all the way to the cosmos.

Now he need to do like Lincoln does with Branch and put Cjjr in that position and same conflict route.. I see the vision

If Jacolby George doesn't cut inside on the end around and follows the blockers outside, that's a long gain and maybe a tuddy.

If Sam Brown and X connect on the trick play, that's a tuddy.

If RayRay Joseph catches the ball, that's a tuddy.

And we still scored 41 lol
Bruh.... I wanted to hang "a half a hunnid" on they ***** asses so bad!!!

We also blew a FG from a perfect angle.

The playbook didn't really open much, the run game was pretty vanilla except for a few things. LOVED the counter, those are looks that are needed.
The play-action off that is a monster.

Good place to put this i guess

Florida interior dline won the run battle vs our interior oline. The correct gameplan was to let cam pick them apart with our skill guys

Arroyo changes this offense, him being a threat changes how teams will defend us

I don’t think Dawson is an innovative OC when it comes to new, never seen before concepts, but he certainly didn’t call a “vanilla” game. He consistently put UF’s defense in conflict. He did a very good job. The Ward effect came into play when UF was in a good set for our play call and he made a play regardless. Definitely read @Lance Roffers breakdown, but also check out this analysis by Chase Daniel. I really like his stuff.

Does he have any designed outside runs? Is it cause of the tight splits for the O line. Thought the running game would be better. It wasnt bad or anything. Just saying that would be my one gripe

Tight splits should benefit the outside runs if we’re setting the edge well.
