Sean Spence weighs in on the Defense...interesting read

Dear God are you clowns really gonna act like you understand football more than Sean spence?

It comes down to toughness, tackling , playing physical. Which coach is at fault there? Hint, his name rhymes with swasey

Are you going to act like you understand football more than Eric Winston or Duane Starks? What makes Sean Spence's opinion more valuable?

Sean Spence actually played for the man.

But not in the same defense.

I don't give a **** if it's toughness, heart, being physical, scheme, assignments, mental mistakes, on & on & on.
It's D'Onofrio's defense.. we returned everybody from last year & in ACC play have gotten WORSE.

No offense to Spence or Futch but they were saying the same **** when Shannon was HC.
That it's the players not the coach.

It doesn't matter where the blame needs to be placed. What matters is who's watch it's under (D'Onofrio & Golden).

Cute story sebastian91, but the real stroy is being shown on the field bro.

I doubt it. You're never as good or bad as you look on any given day. Teams go through rough stretches all the time. Were the Dodgers as bad as their record (31-42 and in last place) on June 21? Were they as good as their record (77-52 and in first place) two months later? No to both. Unfortunately, college football doesn't allow rough stretches because you're out of it by the time you recover. The elite teams are more consistent, and the pretenders are consistently inconsistent.

1. Are you saying we're doing the exact things right now that we were doing when he played for him?

2. Are you saying that Eric Winston or Duane Starks can't trust what they see because they didn't play for a coach?

3. More than that, are you saying that Sean Spence has some unique knowledge of our situation? He's watching games (presumably) and giving an opinion. Look at his quote:
“I don’t know if its misfits or guys missing tackles. I know the tackling system they go through every day in practice and that system shouldn’t create problems like that.”

SS is a true cane and one of the few bright spots for us in recent years. But I'm sorry Starks and Winston have played for a long time at the NFL level. They have more football knowledge than SS.

LOL

What makes EW or DS opinion more important than Spence, Blades, Don S, or anyone else. Fact is they are all opinions. Just like everyone else on this board.

Everyone on this board(cept for a few trolls) wants to see Miami win again. No one will see eye to eye especially when things go bad.

Nothing. That's exactly my point. I'm not saying their opinions are any more valid.

They are also making opinions based on 3 games. How bout 3 seasons or at a minimum the last two. Should these guys not be improving or getting a better handle on the defense? Somewhere the coaching is failing as well.

I'm so sorry Sean Spence had to experience that attrocity.

There is nothing anyone can say that can convince me the the philosophy implemented is not the reason we suck against bottom feeders.

You've been gassing off so much since the Duke game, you can't afford to back down for fear of exposing your glistening ******.

Carry on.

This latest local media "blame the talent" blitz is just a lame attempt by the beat writers to endear themselves to the staff.

I remember similar attempts, like the long article by Manny Navaro designed to defend Swasey a couple years ago when he was catching a lot of flack from the fans. Then a couple seasons later Golden had to come in and totally overhaul/babysit the S&C program.

Yeah but Golden doesn't know **** about s &PC which is why he needs to hire someone who does

A rough stretch? Really man? That's funny right there.

I don't disagree, just saying I've seen this tactic from local media before.

I'm blaming the commanding general...not his lieutenants

Swasey doesn't work for Golden. He reports directly to Blake James because he runs s&c for all sports not just football

So strength and conditioning has to do with either not knowing where to be lined up, or taking wrong angles on tackles ALL the time?? I'm confused, help me out with that.
