Schiano to be new HC of Oregon Ducks?

Schiano and Kiffin keep being rumored for HC jobs but nobody ever hires them. It's not 100% clear that they even get consideration for HC jobs. Not everybody who's rumored for a HC job is even considered by the AD, let alone hired. I saw an article yesterday claiming that Kiffin keeps inquiring about HC jobs, but no school picks up the phone.

Terrible hire. Oregon's going to be a tough sell for a lot of people these days though, unless they really are paying $10 mil a year.
 
Wow, I'm sweating bullets now that Butch is going into living rooms talking all those 5 stars into playing for FIU. What makes it worse is that Schiano is going to be right behind him.

We might as well shut down the Program!

We only have to worry about Butch The God. Schiano's gonna have to get some quick hooks into Cali to even have a hope for success.
 
Players only go to Oregon for 2 reasons - Nike and explosive offense. If they would hire a Defensive guy like Schiano, it would ruin the program. He doesn't fit the mold or the program.

They would be better off going back and getting Scott Frost than to hire Schiano.....and i wouldn't recommend that either. If i was them, i would look at a guy like Lincoln Riley. He's a young, energetic guy who runs the uptempo spread. Then spend the $$ and bring in a good DC....like Jim Leavitt (he turned around a BAD Colorado D). I've heard Willie Taggarts name associated with Oregon as well. His offense also fits the mold.
 
Oregon needs to come get Willie Taggert the **** out of Florida before the Gaturds wise up, ****can Horseface and hire him at UiF.

Kiffen would be best fit. He was always a great west coast recruiter and offensive mind. Now that he has made some contacts should be able to put together an ok staff.
 
Schiano's teams played a physical brand of football at Rutgers when he managed to turn the tide, and he gave life to a program that was a perennial door-mat.. Maybe the Ducks want some of that NJ toughness. I'm not sure why people here think Schiano is incapable of putting together a quality staff to run whatever offense the Duks want him to run. He'll have a ton of money, great facilities, and the best players coming to his doorstep every year for "the opening". I think it's an intriguing hire at the very least but not nearly as bad as some suggest.

While it might be a bad hire for them it can't be all bad for those who hate Urban. Schiano goes to Oregon and if Fickell goes to FAU OSU will have search for new people on D. I might be wrong but I remember Urban's health issues/decline was after strong left. So if it helps OSU suck I'm all for it.
 
This move (if it happens) makes no sense. You have an offensive jaggernaut(well the last few years anyway) and you are bringing in Schiano? Why not wait until The Niners fire Chip Kelly it worked for Petrino;well until he ran into Tom Herman.

I don't see Schiano getting the HC gig. Isn't he Co-DC with Ohio State? Maybe he gets a promotion the dreaded asst head coaching title along with running the D alone? That would be an extremely weak move by The Quack Attack. Don't see it happening but LSU just destroyed another 5 years of LSU football (at least) by hiring Orgeron.

BTW I asked before why is Kirby Hockutt the Chair of The Payoff Committee? I swear man this country is now rewarding total incompetence with even bigger ways to f*ck it up! This is the same man who bought used car salesman Folden's novel "Gone With The Wind". I would have loved to see Al's plan for completely decimating everything sacred about a once proud program. Hockutt gets that gig no reason any of us can't be a AD of a major program. Couldn't do any worse check out Maine!
