Schiano as Consultant?

It's DOYO...if you're going to refer to the GOAT HS recruit, at least get his name right.

My bad, I have his autographed picture above my bed. I plead early stage dementia.

I've been reading your posts for some time, and "early" is quite a stretch

Thank you. And yet you have not been able to respond with anything substantive? :noidea:

The fact that you're surprised tells me how far along you are.

I have removed you from ignore so that I can be further enlightened by what you don't know.

Well that was fun! Sorry for detracting from the original question that I made light of. The OP has answered it.

Really...who were the three people?

I had 3 different people tell me that Schiano we all know was at practice this morning but he is there to meet with Blake James for a consultant position? Is there any truth to this?

One is a writer for Scout and the 2 others are just guys that I know that have pretty good sources. Although I am being told its on twitter somewhere.

Somewhere in the twitterverse...where are our twitter whores? I'm sure they can find it...if it is in fact out there.

Schiano turned Butch Davis squads around. Please come back & help the Defense.

Say what you want about Schiano.. He Develops players.. Especially DB's... **** 3/4th of the NE Pats Secondary at one point were Rutgers players.

JC

I'd like to think James brought him in to **** with Golden and Dorito, but we know that guy is too beta for that ****. Someone probably owes Schiano money.

/kidding
//hope this is true

Bring him on. AND Butch to consult about recruits and Chud to consult about offense. Then maybe this staff could survive another year.

Just relaying what I heard and asked if anyone else had heard this never said it was true. Relax. lol

This is an interesting development to say the least. If true that Schiano is being hired as a consultant , you can bet your *** that Golden and his boy are not happy

If there is any truth to this (I can't imagine there is), then Blake James would go from a beta to an alpha or maybe this is Shalala.

So now that Schiano is "Executive Head Coach" (a non-coaching monicker, to keep within NCAA rules) does that mean all coaches answer to him?

Yes. This is good. Very good.

Assuming GS would come on as a "consultant," whatever that means in this context, it'd be a fairly odd pairing with what we've shown so far under Golden and what is generally the basis of Groh's concepts. Philosophically, I'm all for it, but would be really interested to see what, from GS, they'd weave in.

I'm sure there's a good amount of overlap. It's always good to have a contrary opinion in the room. As long as there is a good working relationship some conflict of philosophy won't be an issue. Also, I wouldn't get too concerned even if they do end up having some sort of argument. That's seen as a good thing in coach's circles. No one wants a bunch of yes men in the room.

if we're winning and the defense is playing well, i agree. However, if they're losing, the conflict will only make things worse.

I can already see the "Lose Dorito, promote Schiano" banner

I agree. Is that necessarily a bad thing if we're losing? I'll take our wood chopping friend all day -- if we're losing.
