Saturday's Attendance Is Gonna Be Rough

This is the only way that Blake gets involved with Mark. Once the University starts to lose revenue because fans are ****ed at the staff they could get involved with staff changes.

It was the fans who didn't go to the 2010 USF game that got Radio fired

and that is 1,248 too many

What the fawk is wrong with guys who are big enough fans to be hanging on these boards but wouldn't go watch the team on Saturday? Funny thing is, they will be the same porsters who start complaining of all the bandwagon fans and talk up their true die-hard fan status when we are on top. This board is so soft and whiny right now; it's embarrassing.

Maybe some of us live 779 miles away

It's pretty clear rmcid isn't referring to people who live 779 miles away. The issue isn't attendance from fans 779 miles away, but rather from those who live less than 5% that distance away from the stadium.

How is it pretty clear? I'd say a good number of the people that post on here live that far away. By the way, I used 779, because that's how far I live. You'd be surprised how many people on here aren't in South Florida.

It's pretty clear because his comment didn't come out of nowhere, he directed it at the post that he quoted. Look at the post he quoted, and the context in which it was said. That's why it's pretty clear he's not talking about long-distance fans.

And I'm aware you did not just arbitrarily pick 779 miles for no reason. I think you'd be surprised at the number of people who post on these boards and live in Miami who will be watching from their couches come Saturday.

It's pertinent to note that classes end on Friday and kids get the entire week off. My kid is flying home otherwise he would be there.

But, no matter as the "f@ck Manny, fire Dorito" crowd will omit that fact and lament the lack of student support indicating it is evidence of a lack of Golden support. (My sports fanatic, U attending student son who knows some players just texted me "Golden has them buying in").

Students were complete no shows for Wake and VT, how do you explain that away? Two prime sections were almost completely empty for Wake

I'm not surprised, I realize that, and I don't necessarily agree with them, but that's their choice. As for specific post quoted, if he meant to speak to just that poster, and therefore just South Florida fans, fine, I stand corrected.

I guess I'm making the trip down south... Should I buy tickets off stubhub/ticketmaster or just wait until I get down there? Is it worth buying a parking pass online for $25. (usually have all this in advance)

The modern student at all universities has no time for foolishness like college football games inside the stadium. We've hashed over this in other threads, AD's and comptrollers are waving giant red flags and freaking out about the dynamics of HDTV, the departing baby boomers and the subsequent generation that will not be buying tickets and going to meaningless games. Yes, the students have been especially bad this year, but compared to their counterparts, they are not failing as much as you think. Its bad, it will get worse. When SEC students arent going to the games, you know there is a problem brewing.

In my experience, you can get tickets near the stadium on gameday for cheaper than you can ahead of time. Parking, who knows. SunLife sucks. Getting out of that shytehole would probably do more for the program than firing the coaches.

Ya know, I've seen the article that was posted a while back but I cant seem to merry that up with the fact that skools like TAMU and LSU are engaging in stadium expansions to go over 100K in seating. Can yo repost that article if you have it handy? thx

I found tons of tickets in the WEZ for $10.. Pathetic. Parking pass is still $25 online so I'm just going to pay for it there.

I have a feeling that a Marlins game is gonna break out this Saturday.

Thank you. I'll be posting here all week.

Try the basketball board. Oh and Dont forget to tip your moderators.

The Marlins brass will finally have someone to laugh at in regards to low attendance.

AS i've said from day one...get me a watchable product to suport and I will support it. I was in the stands for the Duke mess, but guess what, it won't happen again until they REMOVE dorito. Since I know AG won't do that, then I guess they better start putting a superior product out there.

i feel bad for seniors but the athletic department planned this extremely poorly.

you don't schedule your last home game on the weekend before thanksgiving break.

Yeah, that's the problem. It actually fit nicely. We have been getting slaughtered like turkeys for three weeks in prep for this.

This is from the WSJ, there was an article from another site that had pictures of empty stadiums and the main culprits were the student sections. Outside the stadium, parties brewin and watchin the HDTV's. Sunlife is even worse because the HDTV's and bars are inside the stadium. I had season tickets in what is now the student section: Not fun. After the KSU and Boston College game, I had slight dehydration issues and major headaches after the games. I learned my lesson and am sitting on the other side, up slightly. After 1:30 or so, I'm in the shade, worth the extra money. Sunlife is awful on so many levels, its hard to explain.

Anyhoo.... here is the article from the WSJ http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304795804579097223907738780

For SEC schools.......This is all so simple it's STOOPID. It's all about supply and demand. These young kids don't get it or want it until it's a hot commodity. Shrink the number of seats available to students to less than the average attendance. It won't take long for sheep -le to be all over those seats. DONE. NEXT?
