Sanctions to be announced in a few weeks per Jeremy Fowler

Next few weeks?

You think they do it AFTER UF? We have a bye...

It'd be nice, but I think they want to drop the hammer the UF week.

This. Except I think that if we beat UF, they come down Monday the 9th, and if we lose, they drag it out some more.

He's guessing. And it doesn't really matter at this point. The season is here, so it will be a slight distraction whenever it's announced. If UM handles it right and isolates the players from the media, and issues a single unified statement and moves on, then it won't be a big deal no matter when they announce it at this point. Everyone around UM, including the players and corches, just wants this to be over, so I'm sure they'd welcome the announcement at any time.

Truth. Al has probably had his statement printed and ready to go for the past month.

If it is bad, it will come out close to swamp scum game. If it is good, then during bye week. They want to hurt us if they can. If not, they sure do not want to give us a lift.

"I regret that the players will not be able to participate in the ACC CG or Bowl........" :ohlord:

If they put in another Bowl Ban into these sanctions I'd take them to court.

We've done our time.

If they give us another bowl ban, I say we burn the stadium to the ground

2 birds, 1 stone

another bowl ban is not happening. the only way I would come remotely close to accepting this (and my sources at the university feel the same) is if they have a video of our whole starting line up from 2002 wearing their jerseys in a room with Nevin where he dresses a pregnant hooker in McGahee's Heisman suit, places her inside of the used washer he bought for Wilfork, and performs a spin cycle abortion.

RT @McMurphyESPN: Manziel lawyer told @ESPN although they believe he didn't commit violation they accepted suspension so NCAA wouldn't drag…

Thinking that was what Shalala and the board of trutees were thinking. NCAA messed up the investigation by first trusting a bitter convicted felon who sole purpose was to tear down the university and by trying to bully former players into answering to them. Lets just self impose 2 bowl bans and suspend the players involved so that just in case any of it was true punishment was already issued. Now NCAA lookin like **** we can't hit them any harder then they did themselves so how about we just drag it out and create a cloud of uncertainty.

Unless the penalties are just flat out ridiculous (i.e. another bowl ban) I don't really see how it affects the players. Even if the NCAA purposely drops the news before the UF game, what difference does it make the kids on the team that we will be on probation or have a few less scholarships next year? Those are the most tossed around punishments on here so I am just trying to figure out exactly how that will negatively affect the play on the field. I would totally understand kids losing their edge when they get a bowl game or post season play pulled out from under their feet, but I feel it would be beneficial just to get the **** thing over with so people stop asking them or talking about it no matter when it comes.

but **** the ncaa for dragging this thing out even longer than the absurd amount of time it's been

It's a distraction regardless of all of that.
People all around the university will be talking about it (friends, family, news, players, alums, ball boys).

Agreed. It will remain distracting at some level until its over and fans, team, coaches and school can move on or respond accordingly.

There's no doubt in my mind that the NCAA ruling comes out the week of the uf game.

I wonder if intrade is taking money on this. I'd drop a C note on that bet.

It seems that they really want to take the wind out of the sails of yet another season, the NCAA DIAF.
