Sanctions to be announced in a few weeks per Jeremy Fowler

Unless the penalties are just flat out ridiculous (i.e. another bowl ban) I don't really see how it affects the players. Even if the NCAA purposely drops the news before the UF game, what difference does it make the kids on the team that we will be on probation or have a few less scholarships next year? Those are the most tossed around punishments on here so I am just trying to figure out exactly how that will negatively affect the play on the field. I would totally understand kids losing their edge when they get a bowl game or post season play pulled out from under their feet, but I feel it would be beneficial just to get the **** thing over with so people stop asking them or talking about it no matter when it comes.

but **** the ncaa for dragging this thing out even longer than the absurd amount of time it's been

It effects the players because it is a distraction. They will be bothered by the media, students, family etc. They will be harassed on social media as well. It effects them. It is a distraction.

Our stupid local media will unleash their vomit on these players.

I fully expect the NCAA to hit us w another bowl ban, and for it to drop the Friday before the UF game.

But Johnny Manziel is suspended for the 1st half of the Rice game.

F*** the NCAA/SEC.

If and that is a big if the ncaa gives us another bowl ban and our season already started does that take into effect this year or could we wait to next year since technically we started the season bowl eligible?

Meanwhile, #Miami waits. NCAA COI expects to issue ruling on UM case in "next few weeks," according to a source. Won't be this week

I beat him to it. I've been saying we'll hear in a couple of weeks for over a year!

The Florida game is next week.... thats not the "next few weeks," that tweet came off to me like the NCAA wont come out w/ a ruling until late in the season.

Maybe it's just me but I feel it is a bigger distraction not knowing. This thing has been a distraction for a loooooong time now. Just look at Golden every time they ask him the same **** question. At least whenever it is announced there is closure and an actual answer. I just don't see losing 3 scholarships per year for 3 years (or some sort of similar penalty) continuing to be a distraction for the players after it is announced. They're already bothered by the clowns that make up Miami media. It won't be no where near as bad as this was when the story broke. If they ban us from postseason play or something those lines then all bets are off and it is a completely different story.

It would be great to wrap this up, put an end to this bull ****, but now it would be a distraction. It would be cool, at this point, if they would unleash the ruling right after UF. We have a bye and it would die down well in advance for our crap opponent Savannah State.

He's prob just guessing.

He has no clue, that word sources means nothing. If he had a legit source with a quote, he would print it. If he had credibility and wanted to keep his source anonymous he better have some track record.

Me thinks this is just a representation of the media standards today.

Next few weeks?

You think they do it AFTER UF? We have a bye...

It'd be nice, but I think they want to drop the hammer the UF week.

10000000% its coming Friday of the Florida week. If that doesn't say this whole was rigged to **** us, nothing does

yes sir

How would it matter? They are going to be what they are going to be.

I wouldn't mind that actually. Another chip on these kids' shoulders.

While I don't think the NCAA would hesitate to drop the sanctions UF week, dropping them that Friday could and most likely will result in a hostile situation at noon on Saturday.

They setting us up to look bad by our justified reaction to timing and sanctions?

The timing makes a big difference. The days immediately following the announcement -- irrespective of the sanctions -- will be filled with incessant media questions. Whether we like it or not, that will be a huge distraction. and any distraction is a bad thing when you're playing a big game.

Sanctions?.....................What sanctions? Shiiiitttt, we did our time already. They can go on with that ish...

He's guessing. And it doesn't really matter at this point. The season is here, so it will be a slight distraction whenever it's announced. If UM handles it right and isolates the players from the media, and issues a single unified statement and moves on, then it won't be a big deal no matter when they announce it at this point. Everyone around UM, including the players and corches, just wants this to be over, so I'm sure they'd welcome the announcement at any time.

and then run a 70-0 train on Savannah State to put this whole era to rest while moving to 3-0
