Campus is amazing. River Run's through it came out when I was in college, and I toyed with the idea of going to Montana for law school (even though I was locked w/ UM), so I did spring break my senior year out their for some skiing in Big Sky. Missoula is off the charts cool for a college mountain town - hippie chicks (I was into that back then, world class trout fishing a few minutes away from campus, and ridiculous skiing).

I’m all for it but I wonder what it will do with some young kids. I can see Payton leaving as he has been a bit enigmatic. My worry is 83/88 - those dudes can be players if given a chance. I still think 12 has potential, but man, he needs more opptys...and oh yeah, no covid.

Seems to be a competitor and can catch in traffic, which are 2 huge indicators that he'd succeed when the competition gets ramped up. I say he's a take, only thing I see that I'm not in love with is his breakaway speed...if he not breaking away vs Montana competition he not going to do it vs ACC competition. But yeah, BRING EM IN. Looking more and more like our final 3 spots will be Portal CB, Portal DE, and Portal WR....IF T2 does the unthinkable and enrolls with us, then you have to think it'll be Portal CB, T2, and Portal WR....really hate to leave that DE room so young though, sheesh, but right now it looks like our WR room needs the help more than the DE room

Pope/Wiggins come back - if they start, they arent getting better after 3 years at this point so we lose, if they stay on bench they become cry babies / locker room cancers, so we lose. Its just a lose lose friends. I doubt Manny/Lash would push them out cuz their juniors now and southridge kids but for their own sake, they would be better off with a fresh start at a FIU/FAU/USF/UCF. Payton can go too for all i care, another classic greentree all american

Take this Montana kid all day.

Smith/Redding/Toure/Harley/Brinson lets go

I think we're good with 83/88.....now 12 is another story, he seems to have fallen behind both 83/88 and staring Romello-Jacolby-Brashard right in the face because they coming in ready to compete for somebody spot.

If I had to say anyone leaves it'll be 12 on O and 9 on DEF.....which would be quite devastating because both were projected to be STUDS coming out of HS...

We have talent currently on the roster. We don’t NEED to bring in a portal WR if we start playing the kids we actually have and the guys from the 20 class.
Now let me ask you this.... serious question and I'm not be sarcastic or anything. How do you know for sure we have "talent" on the roster? Did we not at one point think Pope and Wiggins had this same talent? I understand we all want to see the youngins play but they all are unproven (because of coaches). So I'm at the point were there's no more waiting to see. Bring me PROVEN talent!

I never once thought Pope or Wiggins were super talented especially given their HS numbers. We have seen a limited sample size when the young WRs get in the game they run better routes, get open, and catch the ball. We also have people on here who have been to practice and have said the best WRs are not playing in the game.

And if you use your logic why even recruit HS WRs if they are not going to be given the chance to prove it on the field. I guess we would have to take 3 WRs that are proven every year from the portal.

Can’t beat the bars downtown either...the stadium there is the best in FCS. I’d always hoped they’d move up a division, but that’s a big pipe dream.

Yeah that's true. I guess what I'm thinking is at least we know a transfer will get playing time because that will be the whole point of bringing them. And if you already have proven that you will be a major upgrade then why not take em. I get the recruiting part tho.

Makes me miss dudes like Darrell Langham. I think even he would have killed in this offense. Like I said I dont crap on Miami players but Wiggins & Pope's time has come and gone.
