Too many bread basket catches. Need guys that can hand catch in traffic and high point deep balls.
He’s obviously better than what we currently have but I actually thought the same. A lot of those were him catching with his body and not high pointing and attacking the balls like we’re criticizing our current guys of not doing. Id still take him cause we need all the help we can get, but wasn’t wow’ed by him.

Get this guy, banish Pope and Wiggins to the Shadow Realm, convince Harley to come back, and I'm feeling a whole lot better about next year.

He's been discussed in the Portal threads but, given what we saw on Tuesday, I figured he needed his own thread.

Our entire offensive staff is following him. FCS All-American. 6'3, 193, and had 1,495 yards and 13 TDs in his last season. He's also a semifinalist for the Academic Heisman.

Easy to see what he brings to the table from a ball-winning perspective. Should be an easy sell given our history with guys like KJ Osborn and the obvious need for a WR1:

He is the must get on Offense

Problem with pope, he’s not a outside WR. Problem with Wiggins, probably needs those Eyes checked FRFR

The standard cannot be that "the portal WR prospect must be better than #8 and #6" because that is an awfully low bar. You will find that +90% of portal WRs will qualify under that standard and outperform the current duo. We can do better.

The floor needs to be KJ Osborn otherwise use the IC for another position of need.

Agree but we are beggers at this point. He caught more passes over 20 yards (over the shoulder) in the first minute of that clip than pope and wiggins combined in their entire careers.

Always want a hands catcher but guys like amani toomer and brian hartline showed it can be done differently.

Maybe he could use some coaching up on technique but essentially that tape showed him doing all the things we kept waiting for Wiggins to do. Catches the deep ball, houses slants, can bust a screen open...definitely a nice prospect.
