No coach on the planet is going to bench a senior QB, the leader of the team, in the middle of an undefeated run.

Bringing up Ryan Williams makes no sense.

Unfortunately, this is 100% true. I say unfortunately, because I would like to see Williams when it matters. But, now is not the time.

When you're 7-0 you don't experiment. Basically, you have to "dance with the one that brung ya".

The back up qbs always the favorite guy on the team lol I can remember when posters would write if Williams starts are seasons threw now its Williams Is ken dorsey I believe that Williams won't ever start Kevin olsen say what you will started the under armour game after being hurt all season. I really believe its the fact that Stephen cant make his own checks before the play and just bad footwork on a lot of throws albeit he is asenior but he is our best chance to win I know he's gonna show up 800 Saturday I just hope you guys ride with him till the wheels fall off **** even eli manning has had plenty crap games and won superbowls

People would be shocked to see Connor Shaw's stats for this season side by side to Morris. Shaw is head and shoulders a better QB, bum knee and all.

You still don't pull Morris for Williams going to FSU.

In a Morris meltdown scenario against FSU you would have to think Williams would get some reps toward the end of a blow out game. Depending how he looked in action, the coaches may decide to roll the dice. And by the way 5XNC - I'm not going to stop it you ***.

Stephen Morris is playing like complete ****. When you have to change your play calling so your QB doesn't lose the game for you there's a serious problem. Williams should be given a series or two to show what he's got.

And so Morris is the man because he "has the experience" and next year Williams will be the man because "he has the experience." The notion "what has he done for us lately" is irrelevant, you dance with what brung you.

I got it! Anyways, all that Morris has to do against FSU is barely enough to override his mistakes and, 8-0, all is forgiven. Piece of cake. Then we can have the same discussion next week.

Morris is too hurt. College football is a lot about broken plays and improvising and taking off and getting first downs and moving the chains.

It's sad to watch Morris. After huge completions (including touchdowns), he limps down the field, rather than run like every qb in the country. Our offense is hamstrung with a limp, immobile quarterback, who can't flush out of the pocket and make plays--so he forces INTs.

Don't care what anyone says. Until Duke carried the ball on for the last TD, Williams is not 10 points worse than Morris. Canes literally had 10 points until the end of the game.

Ryan Williams is more cerebral, poise--and has a great command and grasp for the offense. Doesn't have the physical arm strength as Morris--but would have led the offense on more sustained and efficient drives and got more than 10 points, than the fluke circus-catch bombs that Morris provides.

Its a catch 22 at this point. As 5X and others have pointed out, you simply CANNOT bench stephen Morris now. He's the girl we brought to the dance. We MUST dance with him for the FSU and Va Tech games. IF we lose to Va Tech, then all bets are off. But even then, we will be at a point where there's no real benefit for this season in making the change.


For me, I was on record saying that Williams should have gotten the start at home against Ga Tech. I thought it would have given Morris two full weeks to rest his ankle. The coaches didnt make that move. I can only guess that they felt that Morris' injury wasnt that bad or that Ryan Williams IS that bad.... or some combination of both.

Exactly... Cleveland had 2 receptions yesterday and I believe Walford had 4 catches... 6 to the tight ends... Sandland isn't the best tight end on the team... As far as targeting the tight end... Its not all on Morris... Coley was at FSU last year and they didn't do it with Oleary... This year I think O'leary has surpassed his season totals from last year... It's a Coley and Fischer thing...
