Russell Athletic Bowl: Miami vs 16 West Virginia

Should be a good game. Their offense isn't as good as it usually is but their defense is better than the normal garbage they trot out there. Really good running game but their quarterback is inconsistent. Diaz is going to bring the pain.

I haven't been to the Citrus Bowl since I was at UCF 16 years ago. I heard the remodel is really nice. It used to be a dump.

The stadium is in the hood. You can stay downtown or off I-drive (a bit of a ride) or even in east Orlando near UCF. Disney property is nowhere near the city of Orlando. It would be like booking a hotel in Homestead for a game at Hard Rock.

I got a hotel near Universal for $150 a night (Priceline, usually $350 a night). Hotels are crazy because it's between Christmas and New Years.

whoop was banned from all UM sporting events by Al Golden and Mark Richt has yet to lift the ban. I'm surprised the mods let him post here.

The bowl games are independent events and are exempt. They can't ban me from Orlando. They would need permission from the bowl comittee and Russell Athletic.

By the way, I fully expect to be reinstated by fall practice next year. I might even be allowed to go to the spring game. The Richt regime is way more sensible and tolerant than the previous one.

I'll call Russell now

a little secret on how to beat the priceline name your own.

Check out the prices on the express tab for the hotels fitting your criteria (Star Rating, specific area of town or zip code if offered) Then look at the Express tab and filter for these same criteria and those will 95% of the time be your choices that you will be bidding on. It usually works best when you only pick a single star rating level, which will give you a small pool hotels to chose from.

Then based on the express price you can generally start at 40% of that price (which 60% of the time gets rejected; then increase your bid to 50% of the previous days express price, an then up incrementally 5% from there it usually lets you bid once or twice a day).

Or if you prefer to get it over with bid 60% of the trimmean (the avg of all the Express prices without the highest & lowest prices) that meet your search criteria and this tactic is usually successful 80% of the time.

Good Luck

Anyone ever stayed at Hampton downtown?

If your talking about the Hampton INN on 43 Columbia St, Orlando, FL 32806 then forget it about. That is in the Medical district, there is anything over there except Hospitals. Check the address on google maps they tend to give you a very good satellite overview of the area.

Good Luck.
