Ronald Delancey got his offer

Yeah but it’s still bs. You can’t be mad at Miami for waiting and offering late after chasing 4-5 star kids when Georgia is doing the same but day you’re hoping for a UGA offer. You can’t show bias and double standards one second but tell coaches they need to make up things to you in the next. It doesn’t cast a positive light.
Double standards? Bihhh one school is in the same **** city while the other is in a whole other state. 😂

Lol I'm not arguing this...If you don't think a 17-18 year old kid who is working out and getting ready for college, even if he is at a public school...Can gain15 lbs? I don't know what to tell you
Lol if you think he did. There’s college kids that aren’t even putting on that weight that fast.

If we got on him early, he commits, leverages us for other offers, and likely decommits.

Then it’s the “why did we take his commitment so early now it’s another decommit oh em gee this is embarrassing.” We’re damned if we do damned if we don’t.

Miami is held to a different standard versus other programs in their own respective backyards. It just is what it is at this point. It’s been happening for 20 years and is nothing new. Not gonna beat this dead horse again.
This is more to the point. Think Brownlee from last year and other mid level kids.

He would probably have a problem with the late offer because back in the Spring when he was visiting us multiple times with his teammates he was begging for an offer & we ignored him.

We offered him in late November after losing every other DB we have in the class except for one kid in Marcus Clarke, so he moved on with his recruitment to teams that were more interested in him which was Louisville & Nebraska.

Now that we've just recently decide to offer him after having no intention of offering him before is he supposed to drop everything & commit on the spot? We weren't recruiting him for an entire 9 months & now after we lose to FIU we all of the sudden start reaching out because every other option is turning away, is he supposed to be thrilled about that?

The point is, we haven't maintained contact or recruited him for the entire year & now that we've just offered him is he supposed not supposed to weigh his options & see which is the best fit for him? He has no relationship with any of the coaches on staff because they didn't want him, so how is he supposed to just commit to a staff in such a short time that hasn't communicated with him at all until now?

The fact he's visiting next month shows he's at least interested, if he wasn't he wouldn't even come & why would it matter to yall anyway, yall don't even like kids from The West lol
WHo is this "Yall" you speak about? I personally don't have anything against any kid except the ones who play games, but those kids don't normally pan out either so i lose no sleep either way. I don't think anyone here as anything against "The West," lets be honest a lot of those kids, coaches, and parents have something against Miami.

You say the kid was on campus a lot, but then in the next paragraph you say we have no relationship with him at all. Doesn't add up. You mean that when he was campus "begging" for the offer no one ever spoke with the kid, no one ever engaged the kid, we just ignored him? I didn't hear Redwine cry about things when we offered him the night before signing day.

Who have we lost out on that we wanted for CB commits? Did Selwyn Brown's kid commit somewhere else? WHo else have we whiffed on at CB or decommitted that we really want at CB? the fact is he's a decent player, not gamebreaking, not program changing so he got evaluated throughout the year, so what. Like i said i could care less if he comes, but the kids own words are his own enemy.

I do appreciate the engagement in conversation and i do understand you and i see things differently. However i would like it to be known that i do respect your opinion even if i don't agree with it. I actually would like for you to be the recruiting writer for this board. You actually have juice in that aspect. Don't want you to think our disagreement is anything other than just that....

The coaches apologized for the late offer which validates everything he said.

There's nothing hypocritical about his statement at all, they acknowledged they should've been on him much earlier.
We all can have our own opinions, that's mine. I understand you are closer to the situation. If UGA offers the kid would drop his pants and it wouldn't be late Miami offers earlier than they do(if they do) and it's a late offer. I don't know the details and I don't know the kid, but based off that type of thinking it is a double standard I.E. hypocritical.

I'm cool with waiting to offer Delancey...I'm not cool with this goof Rumph not keeping contact with him and that seems to be his m.o.

I'm also not cool with UM not having a pulse on how important and popular a kid is in that MNW class

I also think they should have not waited past October. With Francois wavering, Hodges dumped/waivering, all that jazz...Delancey should have been right there with Harrell and Brown offers.

It's more of an us problem meaning us fans, media, social media, show love and all that other BS. It should not matter when a program offers you. If you're interested you visit. If you're not interested you go to the place that you like. We have created so much useless entitlement for all these kids. If he really wants to go to Nebraska or wherever then go. This what makes most posters upset. We can't hide from the fact the alot of kids in this same situation have wanted "BEGGED" Miami for an offer only to get that offer for the purposes of leveraging it. Not saying that this is that situation. Even more ridiculous is that in 3-5 years the chance that this kid is going to the NFL is slim. He's most likely just another guy who no matter where he goes that fan base is saying why did we sign him. When is he gonna transfer. We need to stop the entitlement because I'm starting to hear 7th and 8th graders chirping about going to Miami camps and not getting offers. "7th and 8th graders "

@Liberty City El

Your right u have common sense which some don't have....if they apologized it means they knew they fuqed up. No one apologizes for nothing unless they did wrong.

But up here in the northern part of the state UF and FSU offer kids the last couple weeks and the kids jump. Even though other schools have been on them months or years. Why’s that ? And they don’t apologize and the kids aren’t ripping them in the media for offering late, even though there’s been no contact. Why’s that ?

Darius Washington ring a bell ?

Funny how that works.

But Sfla kids are the same as kids everywhere else, I’ll buy a lot of bs but not that .

It's because sfla hates UM and our program has been toxic for ages already. We don't offer houses bags none of that and in kids and families minds that is the definition of being taken care of. That's why this happens to us

You've clearly never been in a fight with woman and just wanted her to stop talking

And it aint much different with a second-tier recruit who you have to placate

@Liberty City El @gogeta4 I have a serious question for you, I haven’t watched this kids film and I don’t plan to unless he commits to UM. Im just curious of your opinions since you have been beating his drum all season. What makes this kid UM caliber as opposed to other kids who are similarly ranked and sized that UM fans would typically be upset that we took? What are his good/elite traits that make him a player that you are so high on? Where does he struggle and could use improvement? What do you attribute to his relatively low ranking?

-He's sticky in coverage. Has great coverage awareness. He's been playing it since optomist level
-He's physical and not afraid to mix it up
-He's from a feeder program
-He's one of the most popular kids in the whole state (Will help image wise in recruiting)
-Pretty good ball skills
-Battle tested...having going against who he does in practice and who he goes against weekly.

Limitations-
-Size. Not that big. Like 5'10-5'11 170 range.
- Not a BURNER at his size.

His lower ranking is likely because of size as it just doesnt stand out when in South Florida on the camp circuit. But for example guys like Fenley Graham and Henry Gray are ranked higher but i wouldnt even look their way. **** Gray is committed to Nebraska as well.

When he was on campus he was visiting with his teammates, the staff wasn't focused on him, more so other players that were there. they didn't establish a relationship with him he was just there with about 8-9 other kids. In order to establish a relationship you have to continue to have contact, if you visit in Feb/March & then you don't get a call or a text or any form of communication for 9 months straight how strong is that bond gonna be versus other coaches who call you everyday? And what does Redwine have to do with Delancy? Are all kids supposed to react like Redwine?

And the CB's that we missed on, Daran Branch (who decommitted), Keshawn Lawrence (who they recruited as a CB even though he's a Safety), Brian George, Jahquez Robinson, Fred Davis, Justin Hodges & they also lost Francois twice even thou they want him at FS but he's a CB.

The only point I'm making is, why do people have such a problem with him saying what he feels about his recruitment if the staff had no intention of offering him until now? All he's doing is handling his recruitment the way he's sees best, he hasn't played any games or said anything bad about Miami because he wasn't even on our radar until yesterday & people are acting like he needs to commit now or else lol
