Rob Likens as Miami OC with David Yost as QBC would be great.

He’s not an up & comer, he’s been coaching for over 20+ years since the early 90’s.

He came up under Gary Pinkel at Toledo & Mizzo & was Mizzou’s OC when they had Brad Smith, Chase Daniel & Blaine Gabbert breaking records.

Then he went to WAZZU with Leach for 2 years & then Taggart brought him up to Oregon for a year & then after Taggart dipped & went to FSU Yost went to Utah St with Matt Wells to replace Josh Heupel.

Then once Matt Wells took the TTech job he followed him to Lubbock, he was there in 2019 & 2020 & then he got fired & replaced by Sonny Cumbie earlier in the year in a last ditch effort by Wells to save his job but it didn’t work.

He hasn’t been out of coaching for 2 years, idk why people keep repeating that, he was literally just in TTech.

imo I think the bowl game would be his interview to prove he can call a game!! if tvd tears it up it might be Likens job!!

Love Yost...if you watch some of his old one on one with his QBs and receivers on YOUTUBE...you can't help but love his exuberance, and the way he interacts with his players. Was once a Kindergarten teacher...

If Christmas really does come early how bout an announcement tomorrow naming Brady the OC, Muschamp the DC, and Seider the RB coach. Hey, a person can dream, right???

So “getting your lunch money taken “ is scoring 38 points and having over 600 yards of offense? What?

What’s even funnier is nobody here wants Ponce as a oc, maybe a qb coach at best and I still have people higher. We just don’t want freaking Likens as the oc. So I’m not sure how this became a one or the other debate.

Yost has been out of football for 2 years since he was scapegoated at TTech by the former head coach. Yost is a very good QB developer and his spread concepts are highly creative and effective.

Pairing him with Likens would definitely keep UM'S offense rolling at averaging 40pts per game.

Not to mention Ponce's QB just broke the school season record in passing yardage.

Thank you. Yost didn’t coach anywhere in 2021 after getting fired at Texas Tech last December. His first year at tech was pretty solid 30ppg 470 ypg but it dipped a bit in 2020. Matt Wells fired him to save his job and brought in Sonny Cumbie who pretty much did exactly what Yost did.

Yost has a ton of experience in Air Raid systems and has been successful everywhere besides the one season at Tech. Probably not my first choice for an OC but head and shoulders better than Likens or Ponce.
