Thought Lofton was switching to RB?

While this is true, Williams is replaceable. He was a serviceable TE with potential. Potential doesn’t mean much because it was never realized here. They can find a replacement.

Moving Lofton full-time to RB doesn't make any sense.

Where would he get carries outside of Fletcher, Lyle, and Pringle?

I get moving Lofton in the backfield for certain packages, but to make him a RB is foolish, IMO.

I know Riley Williams wasn’t cheap. So I’m sure they can find a replacement with that $. Klare probably headed to Ohio State so for that price I would hope the replacement isn’t in the portal currently

You think a 6’7 265 pound TE and a 6’1 235 pound TE play the same position and do the same things?

One is a true TE and one is an H back. Schott is coming here to play H back and Gilbert is coming here to play TE. Gilbert may be ready to take that role but I’d prefer a bridge to him.
