the kid u dont want to watch is probably the best athlete in this class. lol
Ill check him out in spring and when he making plays for us.. High school recruiting for some reason just feel like it took a back seat, might be all the portaling, but its all good. I probably saw it before, hope he balls out for us.

I didn't understand why we were looking for TEs in the portal with Williams/Lofton coming up for next year and the 2 freshmans coming in. Now I get it

you know if im saying it kid is the good s especially considering he is from indiana.

Kid is fast twitch...i'd say he he is like 6'3 220 and just needs some more weight but in the pass game he may be ready sooner rather than later he i sone of my fav in the class as a recruit.

In the Njoku/Arroyo mold

Or we didn’t utilize him enough. He should have more than 7 catches this year. He could have doubled or even tripled his production imo. I understand we had a number of WRs we had to feed but still.
We had highly productive receivers and Arroyo. Not getting a ton of targets this year is a really stupid, boneheaded basis for transferring since he would get a lot more next year with Arroyo gone and whoever we get at QB likely to rely on the TE as a safety blanket more than Cam did who always wanted to look downfield.

It’s not always targets. It’s how he was being used. He played a lot the past 2 years. We can say that he was set to replace Arroyo but the kid was here for 2 years and they used him and Cam McCormick interchangeably. They didn’t even used him like Arroyo. He was used as an inline blocking tight end. I would actually argue that Lofton was used more similar to Arroyo than Riley. Kid was the number 2 TE in the country. He’s thinking 3 and out but his production hasn’t led to that.

Well, he was behind Arroyo so yeah, he wasn't the primary receiving TE. Wish he stayed, and yes, he would get a lot more action next year with Arroyo gone. But if he doesn't have the IQ to understand that, then good riddance

It’s not that serious. Kid hasn’t said anything negative about the program. He could have left for a variety of reasons. IMO, he probably lost faith in how the coaches intended to use him. Lofton and Riley wasn’t used in the same way. IMO, Lofton was used as Arroyo replacement, whereas Riley and McCormick wasn’t used the same way.

His grandfather jumped on D$ live YouTube show and commented something along the lines of “ this is what you get when you bring in a receiving TE and make him block 95% of the time” so yes.. it’s football related.

If that’s the case, good riddance. Im not really sure what you expect to happen when you’re the 3rd best receiving option in that room alone not to mention the 6+ WRs that were more effective. Not sure what role you expect to carve out at 6’6 265. Literally going into the year where he is going to get more looks in the passing game and there’s.. what… 3,000-3,500 receiving yards walking out the door to replace?
I can see the family’s frustration with cam playing over him but he is a below average athlete at the position we will be fine

So you lose:
- Cam Ward
- Reese Poff
- Damien Martinez
- Ajay Allen
- Chris Johnson
- X Restrepo
- J George
- I Horton
- S Brown
- E Arroyo
- C McCormick
- Riley Williams
- J Rivers
- Z Carpenter

And we’ve added CJ Daniels.
Yeah, not going to replace every player that graduates or transfers out with transfers. There are also incoming recruits, plus, the portal will be open for a while.

So there's the real reason. Not homesick.

He was mad about being a blocking TE. Sees the writing on the wall that Lofton will take Arroyos role next season. And while Riley will play more, his receiving opportunities will never be as much as he wants them to be.

In that case, what can ya do. Hes a blocking TE that doesn't want to be and would not be our best receiving option still.

Unfortunate that kids are so impatient and delusional nowadays.

Him catching 350-400 yards and being a beast blocking gets him to the NFL.
Lofton and Brock combo will be real nice
