They decided he's a bust and are moving on. Compared to guys you regret paying post rookie contract money to, the AR rookie contract is chump change. Colts will roll with Flacco, who the Browns should have kept, and also roll the dice on a new qb in the draft.
Thats cool but im just saying if you draft a player who is raw and played 13 games in college that means you are betting on his long term development

The colts aren’t a win now team, so i dont see the long term benefit of benching the guy u took 4th overall in his 10th game of his career. And if u want to roll the dice on new qb in the draft then wouldn’t it be smartest to get a higher pick? You probably get a higher pick with richardson playing

I'm sure the colts don't think they are out of it this year and believe they can win with Flacco. I think they've seen (and heard) all the Richardson they need to know he isn't the future.

Im not defending anyone i was adding context to the conversation

But the "context you added" was a video blaming the WRs for eight plays on which there were TWO drops.

Ridiculous. Thanks for the context. I'm sure THOSE EIGHT PLAYS are emblematic of all of the inaccuracy AR-15 has displayed in high school, college, and the NFL.

Great context.

Why are the Colts not a win-now team? This is the NFL, you absolutely try to win now when you have a shot.

The Colts are 2 games out of first place in the AFC South and 1 game out of the top Wild Card spot.

Why do you think they should keep trying to lose games with AR-15 instead of trying to win games with Flacco?

I remember you wasn’t big on Young but you liked Richardson more ? I had stroud as the best in the draft, i said I’d rather take Young later but if you needed a qb go ahead and reach for young. I think that situation was more of the issue , it’s a compete dumpster fire and arguably the worst franchise in sports. Btw here’s my post on the draft that year.
God**** I nailed it.

I liked Richardson more because he can actually physically play at that level. Young looks like you grabbed a frat boy from the stands and strapped pads on him. To be honest he plays like that too - it's startling how bad he is.

Win what tho?

And it has been 10 games for richardson, i think its more likely he is mid but they drafted him so they think higher than most so benching him after 10 games when u said he needed reps to develop is stupid

We can look at records and say anything but they aren’t a win now team lol they are a middle of the pack team thats still in the early stages of a new era

I don’t think flacco getting you a wild card spot means anything long term. But if you play Richardson and he’s good it benefits u long term if u play him and he’s bad u get a high pick to draft his replacement. You play flacco u probably finish around 9-8 and they are back at square one before this era.

NFL GMs are terrible at evaluating mobile QBs.

Anthony Richardson wasn't good in high school or college, and he goes Top 5.

Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts were dominant players with traits, and everyone passed on them.

I'm not saying this in hindsight- I was pretty vocal on all these guys at the time because it seemed obvious. It's an imperfect science and there is a lot of variability, but this was a failure in process and logic.
Agreed. He was a 50% passer in college and that is exactly what he is in the NFL. QB's do not suddenly become accurate when they enter the league. In fact it is the opposite. The windows are much tighter so naturally a QB will not be as accurate in the Pro's versus College. Richardson was 11 for 30 last game. He is what he is and that is exactly who he was at Florida.

Stop taking QBs that barely play in college.

It is a position that takes a long time to be good at and the NFL has no time to prepare you.

Also have poor accuracy and statistical comp% figures? Get lost. Think you're Josh Allen or Jordan Love? Those dudes had over 30 starts in their career before they touched an NFL football.

Anthony Richardson hasn't even started his 30th career game college/pros combined.

Take the NIL deals, dummies.

Whatever.

The Colts are trying to win now. As they should.

You are of the opinion that Flacco goes 5-4 (after AR-15 got them to 4-4) and the Colts disagree with you. You keep acting like a team that invests in a Top 5 QB should tank for multiple years before they can ever expect to win, and that's not how it works.

As long as the Colts do not fall in love with Shadeur, there will be several very good choices for QB in the middle of the first round this year. AR-15's career is over, whether he knows it or not.

Nope.

**** that. You invest a first-round draft pick in a player, then he doesn't automatically get 3 years "to develop".

AR-15 could have "developed" during his injury year. Study the playbook, study film, get better.

Nope. AR-15 is a bust.

If he wants to give back millions and act like a 7th rounder, then he gets more time to "develop".
100%.

Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and even Drake Maye (from his small amount of pro film) don't look like they need three years to develop.
