So I was glancing at the UM roster and noticed Ricardo Williams is up to a listed 251lbs (from 210 lbs out of high school) and Dwayne Hoilett is at 247 lbs (fr/ 215 lbs a year ago).

I know the knock on these guys was their weight - so after adding 30-40 lbs, will these two kids make an impact for our defensive front in 2013?

Hopefully it's not bad weight

Yeah, I'd be very surprised if Williams ever contributes on the field here.

Hoilett, sounds like he's on track.

Hoilett is touted as a greentree all-star. Let's see if we can get some of those to pan out this year.

Rico could play a role here, but he wont be starting anytime soon (ever) unless something drastic changes.

Rico can't play.

I am just curious as to why you believe this is the case? That is a shame if true...

He was a project. He hasn't developed.

not saying he wasnt a project, but wasnt he a "4 star"?

Rivals had him as the #12 WDE and Scout had him as the #46 DE. He was a consensus 3 star.

Williams had bad weight last year. Let's hope the 251 is good weight.. Hoilett, I would bet a lot of money that it's good weight as he's a hard worker.

Rico had a massive fuppa last year. 3 year in and he doesn't contribute this year, he might not ever

In reality, when Rico didn't contribute last year with that ridiculous depth chart, it was a huge red flag.

Very disappointing because I thought he had some promise to be a contributor.

He had a lot of promise coming out bc of his speed off the edge. Kid was rail thin, then became fat over the course of a couple years. Rico def has talent, but something is keeping him from the field. UM doesn't have a nutritionist for FB from the last I heard and Swasey is.....well you- under qualified so that's could add to the issue and also explain why Chickillo fell off the map.

I always looked at Rico as one of those "John Square/Lyndon Trail" type projects. You throw him in the drawer for 3 years and hope by year 4 he is a player. I think this is put up or shut up time for Rico or he will be buried on the Depth chart and transfer to a D-1AA school after he graduates to play his last year. (If thats possible) I am with the poster who said it was a HUGE red flag that buddy could get ZERO action last year. We was HURTIN in some of those games. I think he did get a look in the NC game IIRC. For every 3 Rico Williams type guys you take, you might get lucky and fall into a Kenny Holmes at least once. So I think it was worth the risk.
