Surprising? Maybe not.On the subject of BC, I saw where Castellanos has been benched as QB....
You missed the part where I said “the rating includes wins and losses” lol**** all of that. There has been so much realignment that wins and losses need to metter regardless of what conference you are in.
I am sick of hearing about SEC teams that have one or more losses than a team positioned in what is considered to be a 'weaker' conference, and said team is punished for it.
I am not advocating for the UCFs of the world, because that self-claimed natty is straight dumb as ****, but in a way I am. That team definitely deserved a chance, and over the years they have not been the only one.
While the SEC has been elite, a large portion of their legacy is built upon insulating their top tier teams by ranking conference teams high in the preseason and not playing good OOC opponents. Then when the big teams lose, it's a "good loss" to a high ranked team when in reality that team probably shouldn't have been ranked.I hate the SEC as much as anyone. But they’ve probably earned it at this point. I wouldn’t want to know our record year after year if we player an SEC schedule. And that’s our own fault. Struggling with the Georgia tech’s and UNC of the world
The committee was solely created for the intent of manipulating the matchups for TV ratings.Need to scrap the human factor and human bias in the playoff selection and generate a BCS type model that power ranks teams and calculates a rating. The rating includes wins and losses but doesn’t have any measure on prior year, recruiting, pre-season, etc. It shouldn’t even be able to formulate data until week 3 or 4.
To perfect that model, you will need buy in from all conferences to agree to some sort of overlap scheduling like an ACC/SEC challenge in basketball type model. Cross over a couple games a year and we can really apply a solid formula to this and accurately rank teams and weigh results without bias.
The way it is now and getting worse in the future with the SEC/B1G threatening to do their own thing without 8-9 guaranteed slots is going to ruin a good product.
1-4 can be the conference champs and then 5-12 should be the next 8 highest rated teams at-large.
Bama QB just had 185 yards rushing and 4Tds on LSU…I **** sure don’t wanna face him with this defenseUGA and Bama QBs are JAGs. Those teams don’t deserve special treatment this year just because they were good last year. And they still lost to Michigan and Washington last year.
CIS: Miami is not where 1st time head coaches should cut their teeth. This guy should have been our HC
Outside of Clemson, you are showing the SEC's top teams against other conferences middle of the road and lower tier teams. This shows/proves little to nothing. Here are some convincing SEC wins that are hard to argue against vs non conf opponents
They are the strongest conf and it really isn't even close right now.
Bama beat South FL 41-16
Bama beat Wisky 42-10
Georgia beat Clemson 34-3
Ole Miss beat Wake 40-6
Tenn beat NC State 51-10
Texas beat Mich 31-12
This is the frustrating part. Why is GT a big deal and Vandy not? Those teams are pretty equal. The pass Bama has gotten is wild. You missed the part where I said “the rating includes wins and losses” lol
I think that should be a heavily weighted item. Not the end all for sure. But I’d want the formula to give zero chance of a 9-3 Georgia being higher than (for example) 11-1 Miami, Indiana, SMU, etc.
The SEC gets too much credit for “beating up on each other” but a loss to Kentucky, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Auburn, Vandy, etc is no better than a loss to GT and we need to stop pretending it is a better loss because of a patch on the jersey. They’re all in the same ballpark and would go 50/50 playing each other 100 times.
I honestly thought this was an onion post. Here are some convincing SEC wins that are hard to argue against vs non conf opponents
