In FCS ball, he completed 58% of his passes w/ 36 TDs & 13 ints. He played Two D1 FBS team this season, Marshall & Hawaii.

To give context:
-Hawaii went 5-8 & was 72nd in Defense this year, 49th against the pass, but 122nd in passing efficiency
-Marshall went 6-7 & was 60th in Defense this year, 62nd against the pass, but 45th in passing efficiency

Poffenbarg went 10/31 for 93 yards & 1 int in the Hawaii game & 22/38 for 194 yards & 1 TD in the Marshall game.

I was completely unfamiliar with this kid until I watched the FCS playoffs, & he was absolutely a train wreck against SDSU throwing 3 ints in a 59-0 loss.

I’m not comfortable w/ going after a FCS QB, skipping the G5 level of competition, and coming straight into P4 action. The game is so much faster at this level vs. FCS & he’s already shown bad habits against better competition at the FCS level.

lol **** that was an Nas- Ether moment. I was all in on this kid until I read this

I think the best case scenario as of right now is to get this guy for exp and to teach the other Qbs how to practice and maybe how to look at film in the spring and hopefully we get little Tua eligible by the summer. When you think our young QBs have only had TVD as a mentor, we probably need a true leader in the spring to atleast show them what it's supposed to look like.

He's not transferring somewhere to sit on the bench

Lol I was just saying the best case scenario. Worst case obviously would be just banking on little Tua and the NCAA either denies it or waits until the season is half way over like they did the UNC Wr. Mario has shown the ability to wait until the wheels fall off many times so this seems like a likely scenario. I personally would get this guy and then he can transfer out if he wants like the Iowa guy did in the summer.

He would for $2 million.
Of course but no one is paying 2 million for a back up. He either comes here to play or we wait on Tua Jr. I'm sure that won't bite Mario on the *** or anything

This is a make it break it year for Mario, he really needs a breakout year. Do we really want to leave that in the hands of a FCS guy, I’d really stick towards a guy whose done it atleast in G5.
I don't care where they come from. If he can see over a BIG OL, scan the field, and make the throws, he's a take. Midget QBs give me nightmares. They literally can't see targets down the field that are wide open.

Define midget. Because there’s a few QBs that are around 6 to 6 two that have balled in the league..
Russell Wilson is listed as 511 and Drew Brees is 6 foot flat. Both of those dudes have won Super Bowls.

Again, I’m not saying that Reese is the savior that’s gonna take us to the promise land, but don’t use an argument that really has no validity to discredit a shorter quarterback.

Kyler Murray is 510 on a good day. Bryce Young with cleats might be 5‘11 1/2.

A lot of college football stats, yards put up, and even national championships with shorter quarterbacks

What an embarrassment. And here we were laughing at FSU for getting DJ U

RN, sure looks like an epic fail. Praying a QB1 shakes out of the trees over the next few months. Our success record after early January in last year's portal was abysmal though.

More likely than not we'll pull in a QB2 like this kid and the best man wins between him, JB and EW. We won 10 games with Rosier, but I don't expect lighting to strike twice. Mario will find a way to get to 8 wins and declare progress. Barf.
