The truth really hurts doesn’t it. Really emotional response it seems.

Memnon dunked on your grave a while back for this, and it seems you haven’t learned your lesson. The fact you mentioned this kid in the same sentence as Cam Ward shows me what I’m dealing with.
3 years ago he was playing worse comp…yet here you are.

Let's assume we're talking about Poffenbarger as a possible QB2 take, not a QB1 take. Are there any others out there that are better QB2 options in the portal?
No. Sluka isn’t even the same level of arm talent.

Agree with this. If you take him, it’s to add competition to the room.

But that’s my problem. In Year 3 of the Mario Cristobal era…how do we not have a). A viable starting option at QB, and b), a QB worth a **** that wants to come here?

For as strong of a recruiter as he is, why are we struggling so bad to recruit the most important position in college football? It’s project after project. Year 3 is too imperative to walk into the Swamp with a project.

With the amount of money we’re offering at the position, to not a top five portal QB is quite frankly embarrassing.

You nailed it. Many of us felt this way LAST YEAR, even those of us who liked TVD. Van Dymes (lol) was proven to be brittle yet we had no backup plan. Now in Mario Year 3, we don't even have a QB1. It's outrageous and inexcusable.

So then it's a no brainer to take him, even if WBB et al don't like it. Because he improves the team. It is not a contradiction to say Poffenbarger has serious flaws but is also the best available option at a moment we need both a QB1 and a QB2.

FIFY which is even more embarrassing. Every other school worthy anything is set with their QB for the season while we're mulling over Plan C/D's.

Sadly, Mario painted himself into this corner where he NEEDS to take the best warm body available. If he has this huff kid in hand, he can’t afford to mess around. Bird in hand and all.

Sure. I just don’t give a **** about his record at FIU, more than what he actually did there, and certainly don’t hold it as the same weight as Oregon. But hey you wanna, go ahead.

Diaz is a 7-5 coach at Miami. That’s what he is. Mario finished worse last year, same this year, and imo will finish better yearly for now on. Pretty simple
Never boast about tomorrow.
You may never know what a day may bring forth.

Don’t know but there’s alot **** talking about a guy who was a Walter Payton Player of the year finalist and an FCS All American.

Plus the QB that couldn’t beat him in Max Brosmer is on his way to Minnesota and he played in the same conference.
I don’t think he’s as horrible as some are making him out to be and would be happy taking him as a QB2 for this year but we were under the impression a couple of months ago that we’d be landing a top tier qb and this is not that.

That wasn’t my question lol. I’m a glass half full guy like to think of the positives or ur gonna be a miserable **** like ur self. Be happy man if he gets a QB great if not we still suck u should be used to it by now lol
I agree and we just need to get someone who will improve the QB room by a little or a lot so there will be competition and not complacency.

Some ops think football outside of the P5 is just garbage. While guys are portaling from G5 and FCS schools to P5 schools. If you can play they'll find you at whatever level you're at, and sometimes it takes luck.

Someone please start a thread on Spring QB battles and QB's potentially portaling out.
C'mon @Memnon, what say you?...Give me some hope.

This will continue to be the standard with NIL and the transfer portal. The majority of QBs are not going to sit and wait their turn. Coaches are going to have to grind every year for a good transfer QB and hope to nail their high school evaluations.

UGA, UCLA, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, FSU, and many others all had QBs transfer out of their programs.
