Recruiting Perception

Nah I'm actually going to post more. If you are not concerned with the cream of the crop leaving South Florida every year because of bags or whatever other reason then you are that dude that will be happy to win 9/10 games to get curb stomped by Clemson or Bama. I want to win and what I see is that whenever the big boys come down here they take the cream of the crop.

it's depressing to say the least... a this point I'm just hoping for MAR and Neal because it looks like we will miss out on everyone else.

Jeez, man, step away from the ledge. There's no way you can be disappointed in recruiting under Richt.

We have 25 spots every year. We have certain personality types and skill sets that we look for. We're never going to get all of the 4/5 star SoFL athletes on the board - that just doesn't happen. Not only do we not have space for them, but they don't always fit with what Richt is trying to build here.

If a kid goes for money to Alabama / Clemson rather than staying home and putting on for the U then he's not the character we're after.

We have to play by a different set of rules, unfortunately.

I was wondering the same thing dont see to many more names than Stevenson, MAR, Neal, wright, ingraham, Macintosh, Battle, Zip.. No ambassador this year! And serious question what if we miss those 5 or 6 kids that would be devastating to our progress!!!

This is not necessarily always the case. Wisconsin is a prime example or Clemson in Dabo’s first few years. You find the right players and coach them up and you can field a top team!

The reason Miami is having problems with the hometown local studs, IS BECAUSE these schools now days are offering packages some of these kid's can't refuse, BELIEVE IT OR NOT but this **** is happening!! SO we can cry about horrible recruiting, losing 3 straight games, attendance, facilities WHATEVER, the bottom line is Miami recruits are getting these packages that they refuse..

MIAMI will still get studs here, BUT UNFORTUNATELY Miami will never get them all..

No school will get them all. Schools can offer bags but they have to have a history of winning, have a chance at the playoffs and/or have a history of placing kids in the pros. It’s not like Savannah St can offer bags and get studs to go there all of a sudden. Point is, I don’t believe it’s all about the “bags”. The OSU’s , Bama’s and Clemson’s have the other variables. The bags are the gravy.

Last year with our #storm18 class we had a great buzz. Sure it was Richt's first real recruiting class, so a bump was expected. But then the season started and we won 10 games with 3 of our top players hurt and played for the ACC championship.

It's disheartening to see the #surge19 class not wanting to come on board and continue the process. It seems all our top elite targets like

Bogle
Neal
Stevenson
Battle
MAR

Do not want to commit or are most likely getting bought off. Where is our class ambassador? Where is the Lingard of this class? It seems like South Florida kids do not have pride in their team. Last year Brevin Jordan from Nevada and Lingard from Central Florida, had more pride than any of our dudes here in South Florida. Don't tell me that Lingard didn't get bags thrown at him.. he was the #2 rated back and top 10 prospect in the nation. Jordan was the best TE in the nation and a freak, same with Mallory. I mean I don't know what more CMR needs to do. No matter how many events, camps and connections with local schools , if it's all about bags and our top boys go to the highest bidder then we can't compete and can't expect us to beat the Clemson's or Bamas of the world. This is the perception I get and Im afraid with Category 20 when those same programs zero in on our guys, then we will get more decommits like Manuel and Avantae.

Is anyone else feeling this same frustration?

This was June 26th, I remember getting a lot of heat for this and people saying I was overreacting but the writing was on the wall . Early on the cycle already things looked bleak with so many of the top dogs not favoring us. Four months later we lost Battle, Igraham ( who I did not even include here), and I have a feeling that Stevenson and Neal are are also going to bail. Bogle? someone said he was commenting on Ingraham's page well before the 8 o clock on twitter so if Bama wants him and persues him like Ingraham he is theirs too. MAR is the only guy that " might" come. I retiriate, we can't keep losing these guys and expect to win, we just won't have the depth to compete vs Clemson , Bama, OSU/ Oklahoma. Heck LSU made us look like JAGS.

My other prophecy also came true unfortunately. We are starting to see the highly regarded 2020 class fall apart as well. As our on field struggles worsen, what looked like a high rising Miami program now looks like the same old.

I agree with a lot of the posters here.. stop focusing solely on South Florida and start recruiting Louisiana, Georgia Cali, Jersey and Texas early on. When it comes to major targets those places produce studs and we have been shown to get kids from Cali, and Georgia and Jersey area in recent years. Recruit players in those hotbeds SIMULTANEOUSLY and tell the kids we have x number of spots open and you and so and so are our targets. What has happened with Ingraham and others can be preventable if we were on top of these other dudes in the first place ( Hello MJJ).

Again... Wrote this on June 26th... It was worse than we thought.

MAR❓

Even if we land MAR this is horrible... We are landing good players and missing on elite kids. We really need to hit on this OC hire and hope that we can develop players and recruit lights out. If we can win 10-11 games a couple seasons in a row we.can ateast start shooting bout top.10-15 classes. It starts with 2020
