Reasons why we won't win 10 games in 2013

a lot of people have been tring to say its 1999 again interms of where the program is from a recovery point; well it may finally be tome. 9-3 or 8-4 WITH a coastal ship would be a success IMO

In 1999 miami had a young qb by the name of Dorsey and a hc named butch Davis. Next year Miami will have a new qb, the same hc who hasn't posted one notable win yet and a dc who is prolly one of the worse in cfb. Big difference.

If Miami wins 10 games this year it will be because of a pathetically weak schedule. Now golden can make me eat crow by posting a win this year against a double digit winning team or a team that finishes the season ranked. The schedule may actually prove to be a lil better than forcasted so that golden still can prove himself on the field which he hasn't done yet.

Most, if not all coaches show flashes on the field by having notable performances on the field. Golden hasn't done that yet. This could be the year he finally does it.

They actually had a veteran names Kenny Kelly and Dorsey (we have Olsen and hopefully he doesnt have to play this year like Dorsey did) and Butch was being thanked for making us natonal chumpsi

The difference is butch had beaten ucla and also won the in big east. Again butch showed something on the field. Golden has not.

Dorsey wasn't a vet he was a frosh and Kelly was what? A soph ? And Olson is not in the top deep like Dorsey was.

Butch was being thanked by the same kinda people who are trying to pump up golden.

Actually Butch didn't win the Big East til 2000, Kenny Kelly played for us in '99 not against UCLA in '98 that was Scott Covington, and Butch was always criticized for not being a good game day coach. But don't let the facts get in the way, please continue

I wont get into trying to say we will be this or that because I cannot bring myself to ever go into a game saying I think we will lose this one. There are a few every year that are basically toss ups. Even in our NC years there were always close games. However we won them so everyone just thinks we were amazing. That said, IF we win against Florida, and I think we will. The sky is the limit for this team. All it takes is some confidence, a better than average QB, and a great coach to keep a team focused and when we gain that momentum this team could accomplish great things. Heck, NO ONE had ND in the NC last yr, NO ONE had Auburn the year they won it all, NO ONE had OSU going undefeated last year. It happens all the time, bit turn arounds in a season. It usually happens when a team has senior leadership, a favorable schedule, and has actual talent. I believe we have all of the above. Hopefully we do! But at NO point will you see me say we will lose a game prior to the game!

I don't know who your trying to correct it Davis won the big east in 95 and 96. Davis also beat ucla which was a notable performance on the field. Had nothin got do with Kenny Kelly. Understand what's being talked about before jumpimg in next time.

capt jack lol you say 9-3 is ur prediction but this team cant come close to winning 9 games with how terrible you described them

we won 7 games last year with 116th defense i think with Morris improving his completion percentage ratio and you can have mediocre linebackers and secondary and still have 60th ranked defense is what we need to get to 9 wins

We won 7 games last year with the 116th ranked defense while playing a whole lot of freshman and sophomores AND a MUCH tougher schedule (every major expert and publication predicted we would only win 4-6 games). Between the added experience and an easier schedule, 9-10 wins should be very attainable. As for your assessment of Morris and the backup running backs....just really bad evaluation.

I don't want there to be reasons why we won't win 10 games in 2013 until we prove we can stay there.

Predicting 9-3 is fine, but having **** reasons for it is what people have issues with.

And that bowl ban **** too, get out of here.

Making a prediction is fine. When you say a player cant contribute or the defense isnt this or that, without watching them first, thats where this is ****.

We have only seen spring games and practices, there is no real observation made of how the team will be on game day. Let Friday come and make your conclusions from there.

Naturally, historically, statistically, a college football team will improve returning 10+ starters on both sides of the ball regardless of schedule or even with the same players returning.

Reasons why we won't win 10 games in 2013

1.) Because we're gonna win more than 10.

I don't see why people are so confident in predicting higher win seasons. What has the team done over the last 5 years to warrant this? I'd be happy as a start in just beating every unranked team on the schedule and not struggle in these wins like we do 80% of the time. Shootouts with teams like GT and NC. State aren't fun at all.

We won 9 in 2009 and would have been better than that the following year if not for the NCAA fiasco and subsequent suspensions. People act like all that going down didn't sabotage Jacory and the '08 recruiting class's shot to live up to their hype.

I've correctly predicted 4 of our National Championships.
People say I'm a homer and I certainly am.
I didn't predict NC's for every year in the past 3 decades and got lucky 4 times.
I actually look at these things very objectively.
I missed on our 1st trophy. I thought we'd be real good in 83, but not #1.
I missed in 1986. I still think that up until 1986, that Miami team was the best collection of talent ever assembled on a college football team.
My other miss was in 2002.
So, I'm 4 for 6.
Taking into account the transformation of our boys to men, our talent level, our schedule and the state of other teams, I believe we will go 14-0 this year and win it all.
Gonna need some luck along the way, like you always do, but barring anything unforseen, it's going to happen.

I'll be shocked if this team doesn't win 10 regular season games and the only thing that prevents that is injuries at key positions. This team has a veteran offensive line with 97 career starts and some depth behind it. You have a senior quarterback who played extremely well the last four or five games. You have an incredible talent at running back and the deepest wide receiver group that I can remember in the last 25 years. The tight ends are the biggest in the history of this program and I love the addition of Sandland.

The addition of Gilbert and Renfro helps this defense immediately. You have a healthy and in-shape Curtis Porter for the first team EVER. You have a healthy Shayon Green for a full cycle EVER. Robinson has his head out of his **** and is committed and playing hard. Perryman is huge and healthy. Gaines is huge. Armbrister has linebacker size for the first time. The secondary finally has experience in this system and it has much better size. You have real competition at corner.

You have a punter that will be All-ACC and a placekicker who looks to be ready to go. You have skill in the return game and a bunch of youngsters will be contribute on special teams.

This will be a very good team. This is the first time I've felt this way since 2005.

Days away from kickoff on what could be a really good to great season and you bring this ****? Of course your named after a *** John Depp character. Fine another team.

OFFENSE

1)no decent depth at RB besides Duke we got no one (RIGHT no backup almost cost us UF game)
2)horrible red zone conversation rate especially inside the 10 yard line....Morris lacks touch and we don't have a back back to get the tough yards in goal line situations (WRONG so far we scored TD practically every time we hit the red zone)
3)new OC (RIGHT play calling in the 3rd QTR was horrible we need to establish short passing game again that was Jedd's speciality)

DEFENSE
1)13 SACKS last year we need three times that many sacks to get to double digit wins ...I think we will improve to at least 20 something range though (WRONG DL is much improved)
2) really mediocre linebackers (WRONG DP is a beast, Figs gonna be a beast, Gaines/TA/Cornelius all improved)
3)secondary is a year away from being real good (INCOMPLETE Howard is good, Bush is injured, Burns young, Rodgers is improved need to play a good passing team for a final assessment)

9-3 last year of bowl ban

3 out of the 6 looking wrong

FSU probably a loss
we are better then the other 8 teams we play probably drop one

looking like a 10-2 season

most likely gonna eat some crow

GO CANES
