Reasons why we won't win 10 games in 2013

I'm going waaaay out on a limb here and say that if we had won one more game we would have won 10.

And if my Aunt had balls she would be my Uncle. What is your point?

OFFENSE

1)no decent depth at RB besides Duke we got no one
2)horrible red zone conversation rate especially inside the 10 yard line....Morris lacks touch and we don't have a back back to get the tough yards in goal line situations
3)new OC

DEFENSE
1)13 SACKS last year we need three times that many sacks to get to double digit wins ...I think we will improve to at least 20 something range though
2) really mediocre linebackers
3)secondary is a year away from being real good

9-3 last year of bowl ban

I'm really impressed.

We definitely struggled in the areas you pointed out. LOL.
On O:
Not much behind Duke.
Offense struggled in general after we lost Duke. But even with him we had our third down struggles.
Still not 100% on Coley, This yr will be really telling for me.

On D:
We did improve on the sacks, though not consistently enough. Especially against the good teams.
LB's were shady, minus DP. And even he disappeared a bit in a couple games.
DB's were terrible, I.E. No healthy Bush, Rodgers and #30 were atrocious. And it does look much better for this yr with D. Crawford and Carter in the mix.

All in all, nice work.

Going forward though, I think the LBs should be much better this year. I think the DBs should be good to great. We should continue to see improvement on the DL as far as sacks go. We may be horrendous against the run. But overall I think the D will improve a lot this year. We really have a lot of natural playmakers out there, so that alone will make up for some of the weak pass defensive play calling. I think the point of some of those coverages is for guys to wither make a play on the man, or the ball in the air and we finally have enough talent to do both in the back four or five...

I think this year the offense could struggle. We still do not have anything proven past the Duke. And with the big ? at QB we could really struggle. Its not like we have the horses to just power run the ball, teams are going to stack the box in both the run game and the passing game and force us to really put the ball in the air. I think we could actually see some very tight coverage, at least early in the yr, forcing our QB to have to make a play. No one is going to sit there and let us run the ball and just use the wr screen game, so the pressure is on Coley to prove his worth.
